I booked directly on the hotels site as it included breakfast which starts at 7am. We were on a tight schedule to go skiing, did all the upfront confirmation about breakfast in advance. Arrived at the doors to the main building at 7am. Locked. Tried the reception door and it was locked. Reception staff didn’t show. Could smell breakfast but couldn’t get to the hallway nor dining area. Called, knocked. No one. Reception sign says 7. No staff showed. Left at 7:20am. 6 of us waiting. Finally got someone on the phone around 7:45am. No apology and in fact was told he confirmed with the chef that the door was unlocked. I didn’t lie. Maybe he was late and was doing CYA. Still no apology. Was told to call Max the manager on Tuesday as I asked for a refund. Called Tuesday. No Max. my info and problem were taken down and apologies received. Still no credit. No call back from Max. 5 days now. Would not stay here nor recommend. No accountability and clearly staffing and management issues. A shame as I liked it up until this situation. We had to stop and buy breakfast so a loss of $$ and valuable time.

I stayed at the Granlibakken Lodge with an REI tour group. We were in buildings 102 and 103. Boing super fancy, but very comfortable and clean. Great snowshoeing, cross country skiing and sledding on site. There is also downhill skiing and snowboarding, but I did not try those. The sauna was awesome. There’s also a hot tub and year-round heated pool. My deep tissue massage was amazing. The breakfast is hearty and includes a few vegan options like oatmeal, grits, fruit, hash browns, country potatoes, cereal, and almond and oat milk. Great location exploring the Lake Tahoe area.

I was stuck in the 2024 blizzard here. I have to tell you how amazing the staff is at Granlibakkiin. A few notables...Omar at the front desk is extraordinary. I saw how slammed he was for days and he was always polite. Lucas in the bar has the best personality and the chef is amazing! Carlos and Julio were so friendly and polite. The staff worked hard to keep the property plowed in this insane storm. I even witnessed the owner plowing. It's a great nostalgic property. Breakfast was AMAZING! I hope I have another opportunity to DJ here again as I love the staff so much! I hope one day I can stay without blizzards. The hot tub is fabulous too. Fantastic long weekend over the “Big Blizzard” of 2024! 8 ft of snow, only skiing open on Saturday, fantastic powder. Our 2 bedroom townhouse condo was incredible, fireplace, full kitchen, really nicely done appointments. Staff were all incredible, particularly looking after everyone in the snow in conditions and a brief power outage. They all went the extra mile!! Thanks again team, we will be back! George & Ann, #79

Great location & exceptional staff. Great area for snow sports, close to the Palisades. The staff worked very hard to ensure we were comfortable during the February 29 - March 3 2024 blizzard! Great food selection. Was here for a conference. Will be back!

The number one impression we had of our stay - 10 friends total, was that the staff was excellent and bent over backwards to make our stay memorable. Stating with Joshua at the front desk - he gave us everything we asked for and more! Carlos in the dining room is obviously a very proud and capable employee we enjoyed conversations with him about his plans for the future of the Granlibakkin dinning room. We had dinner there 3 nights in a row and everything the chef prepared was top rate! Lucas, our waiter was my personal favorite as he was disarming, charming and funny as all get out! And finally as we were leaving, a burly Hispanic employee ( I can’t remember his name) offered to carry our huge tote loaded and HEAVY out to the truck. Wow Granlibakkin, keep up the good work - We’ll see you next year!

As a repeat guest of the snow park, I always entertained the idea of staying here. My longtime friend and I finally secured our room after taking our kids recreating the last 20 years. Amazing community of hospitality professionals. Carlos Ayala!
