This would actually be a review of the Morangie Hotel in Tain. We were informed just a few weeks before our trip that they have repairs that needed to be done in the Mansfield hotel and that they transferred us to another hotel without an offer of a refund. The Morangie Hotel was a nice looking manor and had lovely stag head and Jacobite sword memerobilia. However shrouded in tacky halloween decorations and buckets laid about to catch leaks around the hotel. It wasn’t the stay we were expecting.

Despite being asked for a refund, they still transferred us to the "Morangie Hotel Tain" which is nothing more than an old house. That "hotel" had such a strong smell of carpet clue or some other cleaning chemicals that it triggered an asthma attack and we needed to leave urgently. We were unable to stay at that hotel and had to travel all the way to Dornoch at 11:00pm in order to stay at another hotel so we had to pay for another hotel. We need a refund for our stay and until we receive one, this review will remain here and other sites. I wish the castle had handled the situation better, but they did not.

Lovely big hotel , staff were amazing , food amazing . Had a very creaky bed every time i moved in it the noise was crazy 😄 . Could dowith a little up dating , lamps and fridges , but none the less it was an old hotel , so authentic . A little expensive for what we got to be honest , but would i go back , most definitely 😊.

Красивое старое здание, своя зеленая территория. Парковка. Жили с собаками в пристройке с отдельным выходом в садик. Тихо, чисто. Хороший завтраки. На ужин направили в другой отель (общая сеть), 5 минут на машине.

Unsere Zimmer hatten nichts mit dem zu tun was auf den Bildern hier zu sehen ist. Alles was wir von dem Haus zu sehen bekamen war extrem heruntergewirtschaftet. Die Zimmer ungepfegt und mit deutlichen Mängeln. Eins unserer Zimmer war z.B. nicht abschliessbar. Das Frühstück war für die Preisklasse unterirdisch schlecht. Das Geschirr teilweise nicht sauber. Nur abgepacktes, nichts frisches, auch die Croissants aus der Tüte. Das Rührei total trocken, der beigelegte Frühstücksspeck hat ausgesehen wie nach drei Tagen in der Sonne und war nicht geniessbar. Auf der Wiese direkt im Blickfeld sind zwei Schrottautos geparkt. Nicht irgendwie in der Ecke, nein schön mittendrin und schichtbar für jeden. Der eigentliche Parkplatz war mit einem großen Zelt zugebaut. Das Auto musste auf der Wiese abgestellt werden. Die Einfahrt ist geteert, allerdings mit groben Löchern drin. Wir waren zum Glück im SUV unterwegs. Nehmt Eurer Geld und tragt es überall hin, aber nicht ins Mansfield Castle Hotel.

Please people please do not go near this excuse off a hotel r his other 1 called morangie house tain both r vile they disgusting no running water hot r cold toilets dont flush and rooms r rotten.com honestly this mans both hotels r skips ud b better sleeping at the closest bus shelter take my advice 👍👍

Very nice hotel in a quiet location with car parking outside in the grounds. Clean and good sized room with a large en-site. Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again.

A little dated maybe but staff were very pleasant and accommodating and room was comfortable.
