I booked a suite at Shanxi Hotel. Oh boy, what a stay!!! The hotel looks like a courtyard. The receptionist and the bellboy were all very cordial. They carried my luggage to the room for free. Our room was in another building so they advised us we could check out without coming back to the reception desk again. Just leave the keys in the room. The room was quite spacious with lots of amenities. I am very surprised they offer in-room laundry detergent and electric cloth dryer for hanging clothes. They consider every aspect of my stay and I would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

A lovely hotel with a great blend of ancient style and modern amenities. The room was super comfortable and had a great view of the nearby park.

Despite its age this hotel provided excellent value, friendly service and a very convenient location only a few minutes stroll from the main Taiyuan shopping and eating streets, And its super traditional exterior is quite remarkable.

We stayed in this hotel on business, had absolutely wonderful experience, they took care of us from the moment we arrived, the hotel itself looks amazing, it has significant cultural history, like one of the city attractions. Breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. Strongly recommended to other, we will definitely stay here again next time when we are in Taiyuan

The hotel have a great breakfast. Make sure you book with breakfast. But their central air conditioner are not open for the cold one while in my stay. So sad.

Great location very close to Bell Tower Street and the park near the hotel that is also amazing. The location is also so beautiful Very good breakfast with different kind of foods Facilities are a little old but the bathroom is amazing (Japanese WC and very comfortable shower)

All my adult children and granddaughter really cherished the time they had at the Shanxi Hotel. Access to the nearby park made it very special.

Historic hotel located in central Taiyuan. Many food options available within 100m.

Wow -- I had no idea when I booked this that it was a historical building. This is a great complex of buildings with a nicely refurbished interior. The Chinese-style breakfast buffet was good, and the robe was excellent. Check this place out if you're in Taiyuan.

The property is good and better from outside

I found myself having to stay in Taiyuan due to the outbreak preventing me going home. After several phone calls I finally found this hotel that would receive foreign guests. The staff were very polite and I particularly wish to thank the front desk staff and the concierge who helped me with the various paperwork needed when I arrived. The room was very clean, well furnished and maintained. A fruit basket was delivered which I thought was a nice touch. Living so close to Taiyuan it is not somewhere I would usually need to stay but should the need arise again I would not hesitate to do so. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asks me about a suitable hotel or if you are planning to stay in Taiyuan. The location is very convenient. Lots of food options and things to do nearby. All in all, Shanxi Hotel deserve praise.

Environment: The visual difference between day and night is quite big. The location is very good. It is a few hundred meters away from Zhonglou Street and Liuxiang Street. Facilities: The deluxe room we booked is in a small building with only three floors. The room is very large. It is said to be newly decorated. It should be four or five years old. The bedding is OK and equipped with a humidifier. Hygiene: It may be due to oldness. Overall, it is average. Service: The girl at the front desk is quite indifferent and expressionless, but the guy serving on the floor is quite enthusiastic. I would like to add that there is no one to guide you in the lobby of the deluxe building. You have to find it by yourself. Fortunately, it is not expensive.

This is the worst accommodation experience after registering as a member of Ctrip! It's almost 2025, and there are still hotels where the bath water is suddenly hot! And then it's ice cold again! The small refrigerator is so dirty that you can't look directly at it! The sharpness of the gap on the washbasin is so sharp that it is easy to scratch! The paint on the clothes hanger is all peeling! The glass on the kettle is full of dust! What I can't accept the most is that after I found that there was a problem with the bath water and called the front desk, the other party directly asked my family if they were hot and cold. This hotel knew that there was a problem with the bath water! But they didn't solve it! When booking the hotel, I made a note not to have rooms on both sides of the corridor, but they still gave me a room near the corridor exit! After I complained to Ctrip, they even wanted me to cancel the Ctrip order and pay cash at the front desk to give me a discount! The price of a five-star hotel, the service of a fast hotel, and the facilities are not even as good as those of a guest house! Don't go! I've been a Ctrip member for so many years and rarely give bad reviews, but I can't stand it this time! It's just a devil in a beautiful body! ! ! Whoever goes there will be fooled! ! ! If you like the night view in front of his house, just take a photo. Don't stay here! ! !
