This is definitely the best hotel in the same price range, with spacious rooms, clean environment, considerate service, Xiao Zhao and Xiao Liang at the front desk are very nice, they always smile every time you come in and out, and the breakfast is also very rich. The location is absolutely perfect. It's very close to Food Street, Bell Tower Street, Liuxiang, and Shanxi Merchants Museum. It's also very convenient to eat and drink around. I will definitely stay here next time I go to Taiyuan.

Xinjian Road is currently undergoing construction. The parking lot is a bit of a walk away, but it's free of charge. During check-in, the staff assigned me a room on the residential side and upgraded me to one with a large window. Although construction on Xinjian Road starts at 7 AM, I couldn't hear any noise from my room, which was a huge plus. (Earplugs and a steam eye mask were also provided upon check-in.) The front desk staff recommended Yuhe No. 5 restaurant. It costs about 40 RMB per person and offers a set menu with three classic Shanxi dishes, a pot of tea, and two bowls of rice. My companion and I were absolutely stuffed! On the second day, we were able to get a late check-out until 2 PM, which gave us plenty of time to explore and have brunch before comfortably returning to check out. We ended up having brunch at Lao Taiyuan (South Store), trying Taiyuan Tounao and lamb soup. The meal for two cost 50 RMB and was very satisfying. Afterwards, we took a stroll around Zhonglou Street, Gulou Street, and Liuxiang. The room featured a huge 65-inch TCL TV. It was great to relax in bed and watch TV at night, and I also appreciated the screen mirroring feature for phones. The mattress was very comfortable too. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.
