There are 2 identically named hotels opposite the train station - the right one is closest to the sea, the other has a sign saying go to the next one.
The reception area is very small and there is only the staff toilet if you need to use one.
The staff are polite and helpful. The coffee machine at reception is good.
The rooms are clean and a good size but are very old, the bathrooms look to be from the 1970s.
The bed had a squeaky spring.
The location is its main (and possibly only) strong point

Everything was as expected and the room was a comfortable size for solo travel, even allowing to open a suitcase properly which is sometimes very difficult in average Japan hotels with limited space! The location was amazing just a five mins stroll to the main train station, where you can do shopping conveniently, and also the ferry port for island hopping during the Setouchi Art Triennial. I was asked to stay in the 2nd building for the hotel which didn’t create any issues, just a small block away, the hotel/staff were very helpful in allowing to store the luggage even before and after check in for a full day!

Once I check-in to the hotel, I found that my room is half block down the street in the Annex. Walking in cold rain is no fun. On the check-out day I want to drop of my bags and come back to pick up later. No staff at the counter for 15 minutes. The hotel is pretty old. It reminds me of Motel-6 in the USA. For that price that are better choice in the Takamatsu area.

Very bad experience! Only good thing is about location which is about 2-3 minutes walk from JR station. The hotel needs desperate renovation. You can easily see tear down of wallpaper in the room. We feel like going back to 70’s or 80’s. We complained about cracks on the wash basin and used tooth brush packs and requested for immediate room change. Definitely not recommend for staying😡

Price is good. Location is great, just 5 mins by foot to JR Takamatsu and the train station Takamatsu-Chicco. Staff is helpful and nice too.
However, the room is old and aging on the amenities. Dust is on the desk, on ceiling, and near the air-conditioner. Carpet looks not washed for quite some time.
Fortunately the bed is comfortable and I feel hygiene on it.
For someone who has high standard of hygiene, this hotel would not be an option for them.

- Staff are friendly, staff can speak Japanese & mandarin.
- location is great, right next to the station.
- rooms are tidy, but decos are old.
- strange light system, lights on whole night unless turn off the main switch (means no phone charging)

Excellent location for train, buses and ferries. Room clean if somewhat dilapidated (peeling wallpaper). Windows are sound proof so it’s very quiet. Breakfast consists of your choice of drink and two buns/sandwiches in a good bakery in the train station. Wifi terrible, needed to be switched on and off to boost about every 30 seconds. Tea/coffee for the taking in the lobby.
