Hotel and Spa Gift Takayama

An excellent hotel! Great location, just a 2-minute walk from the JR station/bus stop. The room size was quite good, and the breakfast was delicious and unique. The service was attentive, and they even have a hot spring bath on the top floor. Guests also get complimentary late-night dessert.

This was the first hotel we stayed at in Takayama. The room was quite spacious, and the public hot spring facilities were a nice bonus. In the evenings, they offered tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) and ochazuke (rice with tea) as a late-night snack. The breakfast had a good variety of options, and it seemed like most of the guests were foreigners. The location was excellent, very close to the station and all the main attractions, so no complaints there. The only downside was that the prices jumped significantly for the next day due to the Takayama Festival, so we ended up switching to a different hotel.

Just a 2-3 minute walk from Takayama Station, this hotel is quite new and boasts incredibly spacious rooms, plus a fantastic public bath. They even offer complimentary late-night ramen and sweet soup. The environment and service are absolutely superb. It's also just a stone's throw away from Maruaki Hida Beef restaurant – highly recommended!
