Celebrating our 8th (or is in 9th) visit to Thailand, our anniversary and a birthday. Located 15mins north of Kao Lak on the Pak Weep Beach is the newly re-branded Ananea Beyond Khao Lak Resort. Our eighth visit to this area since 2006 and first time at the "Beyond". We have walked past (on the beach) this resort many times on previous visits to Pak Weep Beach and have been very glad we made this our choice for 2025. We arrived on the 1st November for a 14 night stay which was just a week or so after it had re-opened for the season. The “Beyond” supplied excellent airport transfer from HKT to the Beyond Khaolak . The resort’s agent was at the arrivals barrier and easy to locate. Within minutes we were in or superb air con minibus and on our way. If you’ve ever been to Phuket airport you will know how chaotic that place can be! The drive north to Khao Lak (approx. 80mins ) is always “interesting” for a first timer so if you can keep your eyes open it will be an education into local standards of vehicle driving and maintenance. Lol. On arrival at “Beyond” – reception staff welcomed us with their wonderful smiles, greetings and a welcoming cool drink. Check-In is very quick with a minimum of fuss and documentation. Just keep your “Hotel Voucher” handy as well as your passports. Top Tip: The “Reception” area does lack ceiling or floor fans to keep you a cool but you aren’t their too long. The small Library/ Info room in the foyer has Air Con so if you’re feeling exhausted and the heat is getting to you ask if you can sit in there. The resort looks fresh and tidy and quite new after a 3-month period of deep refurbishment. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. The villas have all been updated in virtually every way. New furniture and decoration both inside and out. Excellent Air Con, plenty of Hot water and good toilettes. The team from Housekeeping kept our little villa immaculate and looked after our every need. The bed was decorated beautifully with, Swan Towels. flowers and the words Happy Anniversary. Thank you so much. It’s a medium sized resort that is well spaced out yet close to beach, restaurant and facilities. If the greenery is not established the view from your most villa patio’s is restricted to the rear wall and air con unit of the villa in front unit. Being very close to the pool (Premium Villa 1304) put us close to the loungers, bars, pool and beach that the villa patio was virtually unused. Note: Some drain gratings at the front/rear of the villas require replacing or reseating due to corrosion. Finishing touches to the refurbishment and some important maintenance was still in progress but did not affect us during our stay. The beach and pool sun lounger area is looked after by 2 great members of pool/beach staff that sort out loungers, parasols and towels as you arrive and if they think you want more sun protection they will fetch another parasol. After breakfast on most mornings (0830hrs) we made our way to the beach area
