I wish I could post a more positive review, because the room was good, the staff were good and the hotel was good. However, once again, I am sitting here almost week after and the pre authorisation deposit, the full amount of the stay, is still showing on my bank account. Over one hundred pounds I cannot use. Out of five hotels on our European tour, this is the only one that wouldn’t let me pay in advance. I did pay as soon as I checked in but the deposit was still taken. A member of reception cancelled this pending payment when I pointed it out but it is still showing in my account. It’s bad enough that French service stations take an extra £100 pounds when you pay by card but at least they cancel that within two days. I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions over the years on car and motorcycle holidays, never again. Until the payment clears you are effectively paying twice for a room and if you are on budget, this may take you into overdraught with the resulting charges.
