Hotel Pasatiempo

I just came back from a 10 day stay here. I really liked it. Cute, quaint, great location, great staff, having a pool is a must and this one is a little tropical oasis in the middle of town. Can't beat the location. Quiet even at night, didn't hear any of the outside noise. Slept like a baby. I highly recommend coming here!

Pros: Excellent location, beautiful pool, amazing breakfast value, and cold AC. Cons: Temporary plumbing issues/lack of water. Review: Hotel Pasatiempo is a gem for families or groups who like a quiet vibe. We traveled with a friend and a teenager, and the layout worked well for us. The hotel is small and intimate, so the pool area stays relaxing even during busy times. We were very impressed with the breakfast quality for just $10 CAD. While we did have some trouble with the water being out for a couple of days, the comfort of the beds and the proximity to everything in Tamarindo made it a "win" overall.

We stayed for 7 nights and had a wonderful time! The property was right in the middle of all the best restaurants in town - Lestanco (The Hidden Garden), Dragonfly, Rugierio for coffee and bagels, the Night Market and all of the beach restaurants to watch the sunset. The owner was there every day. The staff was excellent. Definitely saw monkeys in the trees above us. It was a definite oasis in the middle of town! We loved it!

Amazing stay. Felt authentic. Loved being surrounded by nature. Close to beach and restaurants. Breakfast was great.

We travelled in January, a couple and our 15yo daughter. We arrived from our flight and a scenic drive from Liberia to the security guard checking us in after 9pm. We appreciated the free parking, proximity to restaurants and the beach, cleanliness, and the atmosphere of the pool. We used the restaurant for one breakfast and lunch, but preferred others in town once we started to explore. The bathroom was well-appointed and the beds were comfy with adequate lighting, storage space and temperature control. Our only complaints were that there weren't enough places to hang towels to dry: one short rail at the sink and one hook on the wall, not enough for our 3 towels. The on-site felines and pool were a hit with our child. We would recommend Pasatiempo to others and stay again.

The hotel is a charming oasis with a central pool, surrounding bungalows, and plentiful greenery. It is right off a main street but very quiet and peaceful. It is a block or so away from the beach and there is not direct access. The rooms are a good size, comfortable and clean. The restaurant is convenient and pleasant.

The room was not clean at all when we arrived. The next day they diden’t even did the cleaning which they did for other rooms. It was also pretty loud over there and noisy

Room cleanliness was very good, housekeeping efficient and always new towels. Breakfast was under par, very disappointing. We felt restaurant staff could’ve been more helpful and friendly, it would’ve boosted their sales. Pool often had lots of falling leaves, but was awesome. Enjoyed the location of this place, very convenient. Reception staff very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Overall a great place
