Residence Inn Tampa Downtown

Location for the hotel was great. Perfectly situated in walking distance from food, bars, parks and museums. That’s about all that it had going for it. The hotel states that they charge $25 a night for parking, which in a downtown area, I totally expect parking to be at a premium. What they don’t mention is that the parking is across the street, in a garage, and on the 3rd floor only, as they share the garage with a neighboring Courtyard, which has valet and takes up parking on the lower 2 floors. They have the residence inn spots numbered, and they appear to have about 34 parking spots for guests. Then the hotel itself is in poor condition. I understand aging occurs, but there’s aging and there’s neglect, this is neglect. As the photos show, ripped up carpeting in the room threshold and mold growth on the ceilings of the bathrooms. Additionally, the breakfast quality left much to be desired. For clarity, I originally was given the moldy ceiling room, but after asking for a room change, I was granted the room with the ripped up carpeting. I would strongly avoid at all costs.

Staff were excellent! Very kind and attentive! They are the reason I will come back. The rooms need to be updated. Parking was very easy and convenient.
