The food was decent, the set meals were plentiful, and I recommend trying the family-run hot spring bath – it's free for guests and offers spaciousness and privacy. The open-air public hot spring is also clean and comfortable, but it's a bit inconvenient as you have to walk about 20 meters to get to the hot spring area, which isn't inside the hotel. Everything else is fine; the hotel is old, but the cleanliness is acceptable.

The hotel is right next to a bus stop, which is very convenient. The Japanese-style rooms are spacious, and there are both public open-air hot springs and private open-air hot springs, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Since we were going to be hiking, we didn't order food from the hotel, but there are restaurants nearby that are reasonably priced and the food is decent.

A nice ryokan with beautiful private baths. There's a public onsen and a delicious, inexpensive cafe nearby. The staff is polite, and some even speak English. You can reserve a seat on the free shuttle to and from the village center at the reception desk. There are also several bus stops nearby. I have large tattoos, but they allowed me to use both the public and private onsen.

From the Kumano Kodo, walk to Hatshinmon Prince and take a bus to the hotel. The ride takes about 40 minutes. Remember to check the bus timetable before hiking. The last bus down the mountain is at 4:30. The room size is very good, and the price is not expensive for a room with two meals. There is a single bathing pool, but the water temperature is not very hot. The location of the hotel is quite remote. Remember to book dinner and breakfast. There is no place to eat around except the large bathing area. You can book a free bus to Hongu Taisha or Fashinmon Prince on the next day.

We reached the hotel on foot from Hongu Taisha Shrine via Ohitsuchi, passing by Yumine Hot Spring Street. It takes about half an hour to walk from the hot spring street. I’m not sure how to get there by car. The hotel environment is very good. It’s a completely Japanese-style resort hotel. It’s quiet and far away. The crowd, the service is enthusiastic, and the hygiene is up to standard. (Note that there are no showers in the rooms, you have to go to the large bathroom.) The hot springs are very big and unique. The dinner is also good. I have a good rest. There is a shuttle bus to the palace when I leave. ( You may also be able to make an appointment) Watase Onsen is worth experiencing!

The room is not big, but it has everything and is very convenient. The guy at the front desk was very nice. He took the initiative to ask me about my itinerary and told me how to take the bus. After all, there are only a few buses a day in this mountain. It would be very troublesome if I missed it. There is a single-person bathing pool, but there was no one there when I went there, hahaha. So cool. The only drawback is that the location is too remote. It took two hours by bus to arrive, in an inaccessible valley. It’s a good place for people who like hiking and like being off the beaten track.

My husband & I enjoyed staying here with its 70s vibe. Very calm & peaceful. Lovely private onsens with no wait. Koyama-san at reception was exceptional! The Kaiseki dinner was a new experience for us and the wait staff were very helpful!
