I’ve been staring at the hotel once a month for the last few months after I decided to move from the nearby Premier Inn due to various issues. No problems here at all; the staff are all very welcoming, friendly & some go out of their way to talk to me whilst in the bar or restaurant alone. A special mention to Riya on reception & Jersie in the restaurant who makes sure my dietary needs are catered to. Bedrooms are spacious, clean & have comfy beds. I had a welcome back message on my bedroom mirror last week which I thought was a really nice touch

We had our wedding at Tankersley Manor and I can't praise the staff as they were excellent from initial booking to the wedding day itself. I would like to especially thank Jess Walker the wedding Co-ordinator as she was there for us every step of the way and obviously weddings can be stressful but she made the whole thing so much easier and was there to answer any questions no matter how small or silly and helped us so much. Also when we needed to move the wedding forward for personal family reasons she took this in her stride and sorted it very quickly and efficiently. Also Abigail Todd who was Co-ordinator on the day , was very efficient and helped the day run so smoothly so we didn't need to worry or stress. Finally I think the chef was called Ross (who I believe is new to the hotel) ?? he went out of his way to phone one of the guest who had allergies to discuss this with what it was to make sure he understood her needs and so she was able to enjoy the meal without worry. Again a big thankyou to everyone that was involved in organising and helping with the wedding on the day as it was a huge success and cant thank you all enough. Gail & Ian Moore April 20th 2024

Looks very pretty, staff are lovely but my room was disgusting. Dirty linen, bathroom dirty walls and skirting boards and lipstick on (paper!!) cup. Refer to pictures I have posted. Made me feel pretty queasy. No way this should be rated 4 star. Paper cups in bathroom and no shower caps either. Reported issues to reception and the mattress protectors were changed to fresh clean ones but the walls and skirting in bathroom were left. God only knows what the marks on the bathroom walls were, however, I think I could hazard a guess at what it could be. The issues with the bedding is unforgivable given that a month before someone posted an almost an identical issue. I am at a loss too to understand how someone could make up a bed with a mattress protector on it that’s in such a state. Dinner was ok, super expensive for what you order. Sharing platter with mediocre meat, cardboard flatbread, one balsamic onion cut into 4, sprinkle of capers and oil & balsamic dipping sauce was £16 but if you wanted olives it was another £4!! My colleague had rib eye steak and chips, £25.95, enormous portion of chips but peppercorn sauce was extra £4!!! My chicken Caesar salad was £18.50. Last business trip we stayed in premier inn. Next time we are in Barnsley I will requesting stay there and not this hotel.

We had our wedding here. The staff were super helpful they had a person (Abbie) assigned to us for the day who ensured that everything was set up correctly and kept us in the loop whilst getting ready so that we had no worries on that front. Leading up to the wedding we had a planner (Jess) who was always happy to answer any questions we had and went through all the wedding details before the wedding including things I hadn't thought of. Everything went smoothly and was as we had wanted it to be. I would highly recommend having your wedding here.
