The Commercial Hotel

This was a really nice gem, not far from Cairngorms National Park. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The food was great and the service as well. They had a nice bar where we could have some drinks, play some pool and even choose music from a jukebox, which gave a nice atmosphere. The rooms were well equipped, clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend!

Impolite and foul mouthed owners with a chronic understaffment. Waiting times are excessive and main hall smells from the unclean toilets. Food is batch prepared in advance and was cold in centre in this instance a steak pie that was microwaved. Bar staff were friendly but wine glass was dirty and covered in lint. Bar staff constantly being shouted from bar causing long waiting times at dirty bar. Undermotivated over worked staff results in a genuinely depressing atmosphere. Avoid at all costs

Room was comfy and clean. Good shower. Had dinner and the fish and chips were very good!

Went for family birthday lunch 🥰 first class🤓 small portions available for children 🥰 could not fault the commercial in the slightest 🤓 staff excellent 🥰 and the Hotel is scrupulously clean 🥰 extensive menu 🤓 on a very cold sunday the commercial was lovely and cosy 🥰

Clean comfortable rooms, great atmosphere with fantastic staff. Good choice of food, with specials most nights. Kitchen was flexible in providing early breakfast outside normal hours at the weekend when we had an early start to our activities for the day.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Fantastic accommodation, good food. Friendly staff. I couldn't have asked for any more. An absolute gem.

This place was so cute and quaint!! The staff were lovely, rooms great, good food and wonderful atmosphere. A real surprise find!

Some of the staff are amazing, such as the young lady serving the breakfast, and the one checked me in. However, my second morning’s breakfast was not served in a best way it could’ve. This property has great deal of potential; it’s like a place that was 4-star at some point in the past. The room was cozy, although small. There was fake eyelashes next to the toilet, and lots of hairs on the bed cover. I had dinner with them once, and the food was really good. Parking was pretty convenient, too.

This is a little gem within a quite remote part of Scotland. If you're vegan, as I am, then this little hotel caters for you, even offering a vegan/veggie menu in the inhouse restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable, rooms are comfortable and clean and it's clear that someone has put some thought into the facilities of the room and what a guest may require. The breakfast was great too. The only downside was the bedding. There are no duvets, just thin sheets and a blanket. There was a spare blanket in the room, but it still doesn't beat the comfort and practicableness of a duvet, in my opinion. It was a little chilly and the radiator wasn't on. A duvet is a a definite must in any accommodation these days, I would suggest. I travel a lot and put this hotel up there as one of my favourites. I will be back.
