I came on the Alpine Route just after opening to see the snowy Otani. Because I was in Takayama, I stayed two nights at Mikurigaike Onsen with a bed because I was worried about the weather. It was a time when the alpine route was just opened, so I prepared with winter mountain equipment by referring to the clothes and shoes on the alpine route web page. On the second day, the weather was expected to be stormy, so I went out and stayed in the hot spring. I passed the time in the hot springs during the day. It was the first time I stayed at a mountain villa since high school, when I spent five or six nights in total. I think the times have changed and it has become more sophisticated. There is also freshly ground coffee, which is perfect. It was a bed-type shared room, but the privacy was separated by a curtain and I think it was perfect. I think that I was able to stay with confidence and peace of mind. I made a reservation on the web page. There was a pair of ptarmigans in the nearby Pumice forest, and many people surrounded the ptarmigans and were absorbed in taking pictures. It's good to track wetlands in summer or see autumn leaves in autumn. If you go again, you'll go to this place without any conditions. ㅎ Oh, and I can choose the bus time to use the next day, and it was very good to catch it in advance! By the way, there is no refrigerator! But it's cold, so if you put it by the window, there's no refrigerator.

Given the location of this hotel, we expected nothing more than basic standard of service. But it turned out to be a very pleasant stay, one of the best in our trip. Although room looks a bit dated but it is very clean, with well-stocked amenities. Staff are very all friendly, helpful and speak good English. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic, with rich selection. We could really feel the level of service dedication. The autumn leaves were all gone by the time we got there but the scenery was no less fantastic. The colors of green and yellow on the plain are equally beautiful. Make sure you book a room facing the highland cos it is where you can view the sea of cloud, the city of Toyama and the starry sky right from your window.
