Winchester Arms

Visiting family staying in holiday cottage nearby. Good car park and easy access to Taunton. Room was clean and well equiped. Staff attentive and friendly, a very well run family pub. Slept well, I was expecting more noise being next to the car park but happy to say it was very quiet. Excellent breakfast and a fabulous dinner, beer very well looked after and good wine at a very reasonable price. Do try the fish & chips, wife said "best she can remember". This lovely pub tucked away in the village of Trull is a real gem. We stayed four nights and were able to enjoy wonderful evening meals every night. It is advisable to prebook to ensure you get a table as it does get very busy. It is lovely to be able to enjoy a drink without the hassle of driving back to where you are staying. Patrick the landlord gives you a very warm welcome and Wendy, Manager and Master Chef conjures up the most delicious homemade food. All the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. This weekend they were running a three day Beer, Cider and Music festival for everyone to enjoy. We only wish we lived nearer as we would definitely be regulars. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful pub with excellent food. Imaginative and sensibly priced menu with generous portions. Very welcoming and obliging host and good service. Very popular and we can see why! We will definitely return - thank you for making us so welcome. (We are only sorry that there isn’t anything like this in Minehead!)

Great place to stay over Lovely find for an overnight stay for work. The catered for my gluten free problem and the food was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great

The pub had a rather tired feel. Didn't do evening meals on Sundays as they have a Quiz Night. Breakfast was excellent and really enjoyable.

Booked in advance for an evening out with friends, we were greeted with a glass of fizz. The special Valentine menu was varied and the food was delicious. Patrick and the girls were attentive. We finished the evening with coffee and chocolates made by Wendy.

We cannot recommend this stay highly enough. We were accommodated at very short notice both for our Friday night stay and for the wake of my late Mother in Law. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy and the breakfast delightful with eggs cooked exactly as requested. Patrick and his staff did a great job for all 10 of us as well as the whole family for mealtimes. ……we totalled between 16 and 25 plus at any one time. Really very very good.

🛏️ Stayed for 3 nights. 🍻 Good pub, 🛌 clean room and the bed was comfortable. 🥣the food was delicious and a lovely breakfast 🍴. The Landlord (a character) and staff are friendly and helpful. Warm welcome, Will definitely stay here again in the near future. 😁👌
