This was one of our last stops through Italy and a great choice! Rolling Hills and Vineyards the grounds are absolutely stunning with Rolling Hills and breathtaking views around every corner. The hotel sits on 740 plus acres and has great hiking/walking trails. It is located in the heart of the Chianti region and a shirt trip to San Gimignano and Sienna. I would especially like to give a shout out to Matteo who was very accommodating to any request we have. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not have a chance to try the Michelin star restaurany inside of the hotel but I heard it is absolutely wonderful from the other guests. I would highly reccomend!

We dined in the al fresco pavilion in the main hotel. Delicious food, unbelievable views but terrible service. When we mentioned to Matteo that they forgot four out of nine meals he acted like we were the crazy ones. We would have respected him more if he just apologized for the mistake. It was his arrogance that made me write this review.

The hotel setting is just magical. The views from the room, and restaurants are picturesque and there is an overwhelming feeling of serenity. The rooms are spacious and the shower is heavenly (especially the bath products). We were fortunate to have dinner in the olive grove which was a fun experience, with excellent food! All the staff who are extremely friendly and gracious, with a shout out to Gabriel, who provided us with information on wonderful places to visit and outstanding service! We can’t wait to come back!

We spent four beautiful days at Castello del Nero in July 2024. It was our fourth time and it is truly one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed at. We were three friends and we received the gorgeous and huge Heritage Suite 116. We love that spacious Room so much: it has a separate living room with studio and desk, a fireplace (provided with candles). The highlight is the amazing high ceiling with frescos. Having an afterdinner drink with candles in that room was a magical feeling. The bedroom is separate and connected to a large bathroom with walk-in shower. Coming here from 2011 makes the Castello del Nero more special to us from time to time. Also the fantastic staff makes us feel very welcome. You can see and feel they really want guests to feel good and special. The hotel is an ancient beautiful castle throning on a hill with a spectacular and vast 360 degrees view on Tuscany. The huge Pool has a pleasant temperature in which we spent hours. We would like to thank the fantastic staff for the room and the special treatment. We will never forget this and look forward to coming back again in our Tuscan home.

**Overall Experience:** COMO Castello Del Nero is a stunning property that has recently undergone renovations, and it shows. The entire facility is polished, with everything working perfectly. The rooms are spacious and exude the perfect Tuscan vibe, making it a truly luxurious stay. The hotel's location is ideal, situated centrally between Florence and Siena, providing easy access to top wineries, San Gimignano, and Rinuccio, which is acclaimed as the best lunch destination in Italy. **Positives:** - **Property and Rooms:** The recently renovated hotel boasts a polished and well-maintained appearance. The rooms are spacious and embody the Tuscan aesthetic perfectly. - **Location:** Positioned perfectly between Florence and Siena, the hotel is only a 15-20 minute drive to major attractions and renowned vineyards. - **Wellness Packages and Activities:** The hotel offers comprehensive wellness packages, including a memorable truffle hunting experience. The surrounding area also provides excellent hiking opportunities, which the family thoroughly enjoyed. **Areas for Improvement:** - **Staff Training:** A significant portion of the staff appeared to be young and possibly on summer jobs. Their training seemed insufficient, as they often strictly adhered to rules without showing flexibility or proper customer service. - **Incident in Jacuzzi:** My daughter was swimming with me in the hot jacuzzi when staff asked her to leave, citing a policy against under-16s when other guests are present. After explaining there were no other guests, they eventually allowed her to stay. - **Dinner Service:** At dinner, I requested my food earlier and was initially refused, being told I had to wait for everyone else. It took an escalation to the manager to resolve the issue and get the food served earlier. - **Pool Service:** The pool service was lacking. We had to search for the pool attendant to get water instead of having it brought to us automatically, which is expected at a luxury hotel. **Conclusion:** While the property itself is beautiful and the rooms and location are excellent, the service at COMO Castello Del Nero needs improvement. The predominance of young, possibly temporary staff who are not fully trained leads to customer service issues. This contrasts sharply with other luxury hotels, such as the Four Seasons in Florence, where senior staff provide exceptional service. Although these issues were resolved after complaints, they should not have occurred in the first place. With better training and service standards, COMO Castello Del Nero could become a top-tier destination. **Additional Note:** - **Room Recommendation:** Avoid the loft suite during the summer, as the bed area does not cool properly. Opt for a standard room or a suite without two floors for a more comfortable stay. Overall, while the experience had its disappointments, there is potential for improvement, and the hotel could become a favorite with some adjustments in staff trai

Como Castello del Nero delivered a true 5 star experience. As other reviews have said, the hotel is ideally located to explore Tuscany. We had a rental car, but the hotel offers a shuttle to both Florence and Siena as well. The aspect from the hotel is beautiful and exactly what you hope Tuscany will look like. The amenities were excellent, and we found the staff extremely helpful. The service was not as formal as some Italian hotels which we appreciated, and all the staff had some English (and were tolerant of our attempts to speak Italian!) We ate at their casual restaurant each night of our stay and the food and service were perfect. We also really enjoyed aperitif’s each evening on their terrace. The pool was great - really warm, and there were enough loungers for everyone (one day there was not and the staff bought out more). We had a room on the top floor and the views were very good. In all, one of the best hotels we have stayed at, and we would strongly recommend.

Agree wit the other reviews....5 stars is definitely not enough! What an amazing property and the views are incredible. Breakfast was served outside with a view of the vineyards and dinner is in a Michelin Star restaurant. We had a room with loft and it was perfect. The attention to detail and the way you are treated you will feel like royalty. And the location is perfect!!!!!!!!! Would definitely return!

I will preface by stating that we originally expected to be booking Como Castello Del Nero but were advised that the whole hotel was booked one by one guest. This was not our first visit to a Como resort but it’s definitely our last at Como Tuscan resorts. We booked through a travel agent who explained the Castello was already booked out but we could be accommodated at the offshoot accommodation called Podere San Filippo which is situated on the same property and assumed that we would still be able to access the main building’s facilities. 24 hours before check in my husband received an email from the resort to inform him that the entire resort was booked out. We had already planned our trip to Tuscany with our daughter and granddaughter in tow and had booked 2 bedroom accommodation for 2 nights and hired a car for the journey. On arrival we were informed that we were to receive a breakfast “box” at 8am or 8.15am (is this school camp time not holiday time?)and also told that we had NO access to ANY facilities at the main property Castello Del Nero. We were offered people…(massage, yoga etc) could be sent down to us. Where were we expected to go for meals? The closest town is approximately 30minutes away down a windy sometimes muddy( when we were there) narrow country road. As compensation we were offered $100 voucher to be used at the Castello ( which we had no authority to attend) We were horrified at the treatment we received from a chain of this calibre, supposedly in the “ hospitality “ industry. They were far from hospitable. Consider yourselves warned. We
