Dartmoor Halfway Inn

Lovely comfortable room quite separate from the pub. Excellent choice of drinks in the room and fresh milk delivered in the morning. Our cooked breakfast was good but we were surprised that no cereals, yoghurts or fruit were offered.

November evening-Terrible lamb kofta- rock hard pitta bread and the dish had obviously been warmed up from last year!? Couldn't complain on the day as was a family member paying....shame as been here for lunch many times and often good!

So very disappointing after several good experiences here. We came for an early dinner after an afternoon at the races. It was very busy. Upon entering we noticed so many dogs - 2 even sitting in chairs and eating their food from the table! Never experienced that before. Disgusting! The smell of wet dogs was overpowering. We asked for a table at the back. Typical pub menu not very inspiring but we were hungry. Service was very slow. My burger and chips was okay and I managed to eat most of it. My sister's cod and chips was just batter with a small fish portion in between. My brother, a vegetarian, ordered the butternut squash curry and ate exactly 2 mouthfuls. Bland and tasteless and mostly spinach which he dislikes and was not mentioned on the menu. When I came to pay we did tell the young waitress that we were not happy but she just produced a card machine. Upon inserting my card she started to take both the machine and card away. I asked her what was happening as I do not allow my card out of my sight for obvious security reasons. Her reply was : ' I'm not going to steal your money'! Staff training evidently needed. We will not be coming back.

Lovely one night mid week stay. Modern, comfortable, well presented and maintained rooms. Staff were really welcoming and couldn't do more to make it a great stay. Standard fare on the menu in the pub.

Great rooms with very cool vibes. Food in restaurant is excellent, as is the service.

The room was a decent size and had a large very comfortable bed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was good. I would certainly recommend the Dartmoor Halfway Inn to friends.

Food and service excellent, hotel in good location. Unfortunately my room was next to the staff accommodation who were arguing, slamming doors and playing loud music until 04:00am so hardly slept the first night. No staff on duty to complain to and banging on the wall was ignored.

Pretty good for me. When I travel I need good parking. Was great here. Room was a good size, bed amazing. All the bathroom stuff worked 100%. Food was to a pretty good standard. Service in the restaurant was a bit hit & miss, but I put that down to the lockdowns & younger staff who are only now able to gain experience. Will definitely stay again

Good food, great service and an excellent location. Secure parking. Purpose built rooms next to pub. Great for an overnight stay.
