Stayed at Brown Seaside last year and had a great experience (see review). This year, unfortunately, my stay was quite unpleasant. Totally understand the impact of the current situation in the country, but I think Brown is doing a poor job for its guests. Some things remained the same: the reception staff is friendly, and the location is great. But many others have become unacceptable: the hotel is dirty, with food scraps in the stairwell and lobby area. (Paid) breakfast was not served - after several inquiries and half an hour of waiting, microwaved leftovers from previous days were brought out. Large, noisy groups of long-term residents congregate downstairs and in the hallways to smoke and play with pets. On one of the coldest weeks in Tel Aviv's history (40s), heating did not work - a space heater was made available after requesting, but was defunct. I hope Brown can restore the place to its previous state, but for now I would recommend avoiding staying there.
