Rated as a 4-star, I was shocked and disappointed with the condition of this accommodation. I always check mattresses for bedbugs as soon as I arrive and guess what, I found them here in my first room. Not a lot, only several scattered, but it was pretty easy to see the disgusting, filthy mattress condition because it was only covered with a thin cotton sheet laid over it and the comforter and pillows placed directly on top of the thin sheet. There was no barrier protection on the mattress for human hairs, fluids, or bugs! The same with the pillow and comforter… no protection and just a think sheet directly on top. On the mattress were multiple stains, hairs, and several bugs. There were also several larger bugs of a different type in the room on the walls/floor boards. I took photos of everything and I went to the front desk and requested a different room. Without question, they accommodated me and put me in a different room. I also inspected it and I found no issues with the second room. The mattress was much cleaner. With the same issue existed where they did not have any coverings for the mattress, pillows, comforter. It was just a thin flimsy sheet. So you’re basically laying on someone else’s drool, human fluids, and hair is left behind. I would have left the hotel, but I had a driver who had already dropped me off for the evening and he would not return until morning and there is nothing else around in this area. The entire place is very odd. It’s like they went to yard sales and bought a bunch of mismatched furniture and decor and put it all together because nothing is high quality or matches. It’s tacky, dated and honestly, quite depressing throughout. Feels like an inn emerging out of a war town era with few resources versus a bustling, modern establishment reminiscent of a free country. In the end, the most perplexing thing to me is that it was rated 4 stars. In Tbilisi I stayed at a 4-star place that was worlds different. Hot water in the worn shower lasted 2 minutes then shifted to lukewarm. Very aged, worn, moldy edges. Like me, when you see the photos, you will think it’s a great place to stay. All I can say is that the photographer who took photos of this place deserves the photographer of the year award. Location is isolated, there’s nothing else around. Not even sure I would call this a hotel. It’s more like someone’s personal compound and they’ve awkwardly added on room space in a separate building. Noise… doors are thin and we could hear noises in the hall. Breakfast — basic continental and no option for eggs or anything to order. No toaster. Just some whole fruit, boiled eggs, meat/cheese, and breads. Pools look very worn and are in need of repairs. I’m trying to find something positive about this accommodation, but I’m at a loss for words. It might be the worst I’ve ever experienced and I was truly trapped with no way to leave because there’s nothing else in the area and I had no transportation.

Stayed here one night on a group tour and liked the previous reviews the groups views varied considerably but i absolutely loved. It is unique in its decor which some people may find unsettling but I liked it. The rooms aren’t the best equipped but had everything I needed. The terrace was a lovely place to relax and the choice of music brilliant. The view from our balcony was fab. Dinner and breakfast was more than adequate I think you would feel totally chilled if you stayed for a few days

I spent an unforgettable week at Chateau Mere in November that charged me with energy and spirit to get ready for the long Winter nights and shortage of daylight. the place perfect for both relaxation, getting away from city, and have fund with friends and most amicable hosts, if you opt too. Chateau Mere fills you with hope that the world is not just for the privileged or and for you and your peers. I have many friends, but I am open and willing to meet new people. this is the place for that too - you meet interesting people from all walks of life, musicians, actors, chefs, families with kids and pets. and, yes, Chateau is genuinely friendly with pets too. And, the Spa , to make you comfortable with your image in the mirror, plus help you digest the delicious food and the wine. I started my mornings in the warm water of the indoor swimming pool - a real off-season treat. definitely going back to check out the pools outside. I myself am an OK cook, nevertheless, i really enjoyed, and learned a lot from a culinary masterclass the Chateau's chef offered to my British friend: make tidy knots on Khinkali, make Khahchauri's dough thin and tender, and dip a string of walnuts into the boiling grape juice for slender Churchkhelas - known as Georgian Sneakers. And, looking forward to my friend's daughter's wedding party at Chateau - I am invited!

Probably the worst hotel in Georgia! Our first room had hair on a newly made bed, second room was leaking and they put us in a thurs room where kids couldn’t sleep because there was a wedding in the hotel and the manager said the music would stop at 11 pm but it didn’t and reception denied claiming that it is totally okay to let our rooms where you can’t sleep. Don’t consider to come here ever!

Hotel has very rude owner. He was shouting to guests and to the stuff. He made a girl at the reception quit her job with his yelling. It was really shoking experiance. I'll never visit this hotel any more. We sat at the second floor where tables and chairs were available for the guests with our drinks and snacks. Hotel staff was informed about that and they allowed us to do so. Suddenly the owner came to us, he was screaming and shouting at us because we did not buy the drinks at his restaurant

Terrible food and rooms. Dirty pool, unfriendly owner who yells and insults the staff, water and electricity cuts, damaged conditioner. Too expensive for these terrible conditions. The only positive point is staff.

Rooms of the hotel are not equipped. There is no TV, no mini-bar, no coffee/tea or even water. There were no bathrobes or other bathroom amenities provided. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was not cleaned. Bathroom was a total nightmare, there was a huge window without a curtain or any other cover. Considering the fact that we were staying on the first floor, it was extremely difficult to use the bathroom/shower. It felt like we did not have any privacy. Owner of the hotel was very unfriendly and to say the least- aggressive. The only thing that you might like there is staff in the restaurant area.
