Excellent and quite large breakfast but the restaurant is not open all the time so check. 1.5 miles into town centre and taxis difficult to get but some nice places to eat. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff are excellent and very friendly. The hotel is on a busy road, so ask for a back room if possible.

The hotel is fine. Nothing fancy. The rear of the hotel had a pleasant garden, and the well furnished lounge had interesting 1930's brick fireplaces. Our room was the front nearest the road and we chose not to open the widows due to the traffic noise. The room was of a good standard with a nice ensuite but lacked water pressure, and the toiletries were only just about sufficient, but everything was very clean, the bed not uncomfortable and we had a trouser press! We stayed on a Tuesday evening and there was no chef . The breakfast the following morning was disappointing with only basic white and brown bread on offer, and my poached eggs were not soft and served with tinned mushrooms and what tasted like poor quality bacon. We felt that little care had been taken with the meal. But on a positive note the staff were all very lovely!

This was a birthday gift and one that combined a winery visit the next day. The hotel was really lovely, very comfortable, excellent breakfasts and helpful, friendly staff. The garden is pretty and there are areas to sit in and enjoy some relaxation. We loved it.

Brief stay, but lovely none the less. The team at the hotel were helpful and attentive. We were gifted a stay from friends, chose to have dinner at the hotel and was not disappointed. As a vegan, I can feel like my food choices are limited and an afterthought, but this was not the case at all! I did let the team know of my dietary choices and was made to feel no different from my partner, which was a breath of fresh air. Honestly, faultless customer service. I will say the room we stayed in was rather warm, but we cracked windows and made do, it wasn’t the end of the world. As personal preference I would say the decor was slightly out dated, but that is purely superficial. Felt well looked after, well fed and a good nights sleep, what’s not to love.

We had high hopes for this hotel after having a couple of very helpful conversations with the reception staff prior to arrival. The hotel itself is fine. It's clean and has everything you need however the outdated decor and extremely hot temperature is rather more care home than hotel! but all of that could easily have been excused had it not been for the horrendous customer service given to us by none other than the owner herself. We were told by the receptionist the night of our stay that breakfast finished at 9.30am, but upon arriving for breakfast at 9.15am we were told that it was in fact 9am and we had missed it. Of course we were rather frustrated by this - especially as my husband is currently awaiting an emergency root canal so is on a lot of pain killers that do require food alongside them, so therefore questioned the waitress how we had got this wrong when we specifically asked the night before. Upon doing this the owner appeared from the kitchen and basically shouted at us that the kitchen was closed and we couldn't possibly have been told 9.30am. Now we accept that we might have misheard this (not sure how, by anyway) but surely a 'im terribly sorry but we have closed the kitchen now - perhaps there is something we could rustle up for you' would have been a better option?! Especially considering this was a week day and the hotel was pretty empty. Instead when we went to reception to speak to them about how we had been spoken to the owner once again came out to argue with my husband - telling him he had been rude and shouted at the waitress (which he hadn't in the slightest) and then telling him 'we should have got up earlier'. Im still in shock about this comment.... Now I have worked in hotels, restaurants and many other customer facing situations over my lifetime and I cannot fathom why the owner of a hotel would feel that reacting in this way - rather than finding 5 mins to make a fried egg on toast - and accusing customers of being too lazy to make it to breakfast is in any way good or even acceptable customer service? We can only hope the owner was having a bad day for some other reason and that this isnt the usual way the hotel is operated. We wouldn't want anyone else's rare night away (it was our 15th year anniversary) to be spoilt in this manner.

This stay was a Virgin Experience gift. We were the only guests that evening so it was very quiet initially. Our room was a double at the front of the hotel. It was very warm and comfortable. The restaurant only opens on Friday & Saturday nights so we dined in nearby Tenterden. Overnight our sleep was disturbed by noise from the main road. It appeared that the double glazing was not very effective. This was the only negative aspect of our brief stay. Breakfast was excellent albeit lonely in a very pleasant dining area. In hindsight as the hotel was empty It would have been an opportunity to upgrade us or at least offer us a room at the back of the hotel away from the noisy road.

I have used Little Silver for just one night business trip stays for some six years. It was good in all respects when I first stayed here and the consistent standards have remained the same year after year. Would recommend.
