Parking is challenging. Also hard to find unless you know what to look for. Have to drive some distance and then come in via a housing estate.
Welcome was disappointing. You’re expected to check in online, which is fine and saves time, but the reception staff did minimum. Took card. Showed us where room was. Nothing else. No I do about bar or restaurant. No checking if we had reservations. They just didn’t makes feel particularly welcome. Not great in the hospitality business.

The good - nice decoration and friendly staff at the restaurant. The bad - it’s hard to believe this is a 4 star hotel. They basically take your money and then will not care on providing you with a good stay. Don’t bother booking any of the higher tier bedrooms. We booked the Deluxe Double which supposedly included a bath and a shower (as described in the website) and they only gave us a standard bedroom with a standard shower saying we should’ve specified in the notes section that we did want a shower and a bath. The only expectation you can come in with is having a bed, all the rest is considered “an extra that may or not be included.” The concierge didnt apologize and the manager was “too busy to come over” even if we waited. Also don’t recommend the overpriced breakfast as you only get very standard food. Feel completely scammed

It was great. The room was quirky but lovely. All amenities were provided. Staff in the bar, reception and at breakfast were extremely professional

Warm and friendly welcome, efficient and friendly service. All meals were excellent and the restaurant and bar extremely pleasant places to eat. We especially liked the small corner identified as the library - a nice touch.

Stayed here for the first time with my two dogs, such a beautiful hotel. staff went above and beyond with making us feel welcome. Breakfast was done lovely and even offered the dogs sausage. Bed and room was comfortable but too warm and couldn't cool it down. Village around was also very welcoming. Thank you for the most beautiful weekend.

Very nice, old, full of character. Good central location, has its own free car park with limited spaces, top tip, follow satnav to library if you want the car park. Very nice spacious room, comfortable bed and a quiet night; so a good sleep. Good shower and bath. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. My only grumble was the very warm temperature in our room, I couldn’t see a way to alter the temperature which would have made for a more comfortable sleep.

Quintessential renovated village centre classy country house pub with rooms. Right in the centre of beautiful and historic Tetbury, but tucked away with a lovely garden with fountain and luminous green grass. The team were brilliant, friendly and efficient - particularly Benjamin in the bar and restaurant who really went above and beyond to make our stay sing. Bedroom comfortable and and big claw foot bath with a G&T was the perfect arrival treat! Would love to come back.

The Close is an upmarket beautiful 16th century hotel, having staff who are all extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. We were upgraded on arrival to a superb larger room than we had booked. The food was very good, both evening meal and breakfast. We cant fault this hotel and look forward to staying there again in the future.
