Excellent location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and generous with their time. When we travel inter island, we always stay with Family. The aloha and hospitality here made us right at home, adding to a memorable experience for our Ohana vacation.

The hotel is in a great location, next to the Japanese Garden, and the Coconut Island with sea views is right in front of you. Parking is free. The hotel's western restaurant, the steak and lobster are super delicious, and the price-performance ratio is also very high. Great 👍Car rental and return point, I didn't expect it to be right across from the boarding gate of Hilo Airport, super convenient 🤩

Hilton brand used to be my hotel of choice. After some very disappointing stays toward the end of Covid I decided I was switching to anything but Hilton. I should have stuck with my commitment. As the previous poster said our room ($350) was very small. The corridors were old and dingy. When I walked into the room I went to look out the window and there was a view of a rooftop, a large dumpster of trash and a delapidated building with graffiti. In fact there are several abandoned buildings surrounding the property so the area isn’t great. They still don’t have daily housekeeping. I have been in Hawaii for 10-days now and my other hotels all had daily cleaning and it was excellent. There is no excuse for Hilton to not being this service back. That is a key reason people like to stay at hotels vs VRBOs. Hilton is putting the savings in their own pocket as their rates haven’t been adjust to reflect the significant reduction in service. Luckily we are only staying one night. The checkin was nice and the agent was friendly. The grounds (toward the water) were nice. I also agree with the other poster as I question why a resort fee at this property. If you get an ocean view room and don’t mind the lack of maid service then you should be ok. Definitely don’t stay in the odd numbered rooms in the ancillary building or you will view the ghetto.

The hotel has no walls or wooden boards, it is just surrounded by anti-mosquito sand nets, and there are curtains around the bed. It's still a bit cold in January. The shower is outdoors, with a curtain, and it's a bit cold, so it's not convenient. The air in the forest is good and the chirping of insects is pleasant. Breakfast is very simple, bread, boiled eggs, and some fruit. I don’t like it a bit but I don’t feel full. The novelty is quite good, a bit like camping. Don't come with children, they are scared, and people here go to bed early and require quietness. The kids were bored and had to be quiet.

Imagine enjoying a delicious breakfast sitting on the broad lanai of the house at Ka'awa Loa Planation. An enticing array of fruit, juices, eggs and baking fills your plate while your eyes take in the beautiful view down into the valley to the ocean. Whatever your plans for the day, items such as beach towels, coolers, sunscreen, beach chairs and umbrellas are available to borrow. Host Hannah will offer recommendations as to where to visit. Her knowledge and her breakfasts are second to none. We stayed in the cottage on the property. Although small, there was plenty of room for the two of us. The cottage will sleep 4 comfortably if two of the four are children. It would be crowded with four adults. There is a lovely small patio behind the cottage which caught the morning sun and made good spot to sit, read and admire the garden. I highly recommend staying at Ka'awa Loa when visiting South Kona. We plan to stay again on this lovely property when we next return to the Big Island.

I was nervous to stay here given the reviews and with the current construction I wouldn't have been happy to pay full price (not because of noise/dust, but because the restaurants/spa/bars/etc. are not all up and running!) but I got a nice 30% off deal through the Outrigger website and was happy with what we paid. I chose the oceanfront room knowing I'd get a good view (too many oceanview hotels only offer a glimpse of the water) but never imagined the incredible surprise we got - our room faced directly out to where the lights shine for the manta rays each night so it was like we had our our private manta observation deck! It was unreal! The room was comfy, clean and spacious; the staff were super friendly and helped quickly when our balcony was flooded after a storm, and we loved the morning yoga, mac nut lattes at holoholo market, and the easy self parking (it's really not a long walk). The beach pool was closed for renos but we enjoyed the courtyard pool very much, and the grounds were stunning to walk around in the morning an evening - keep a lookout for goats on the rocks! We were also able to walk to and from Keauhou Bay marina for our night snorkle with the mantas which was super convenient. KTA superstore and L&L BBQ are just down the road for quick eats and the location was perfect for visiting K'au, Kona coffee farms and to get to the airport. Can't wait to stay again when the renovations are complete!

Facilities: It is indeed a bit old, and the selected tower is under renovation. But the front desk gave me a corner room with a large balcony facing the Pacific Ocean. The scenery was amazing. Environment: The hotel courtyard is open and the environment is very good. There are restaurants and convenience stores next to it, and the parking lot is quite large. Next to the hotel is also the best place to watch the sunset. Hygiene: average Service: Very good

The hotel's breakfast is quite satisfactory, but basic milk, bread, fruits and the like are available. There is a public snack bar on the first floor. Coffee and fruits are available all day. The back door of the hotel is a row of snack bars. There is also a farmers' market across the street. The shopping is quite good. The overall location is in the center of Kona, and the transportation is convenient. I especially liked the waiter's attitude was good, that is, the hotel does not provide a kettle, only a coffee machine and a microwave oven, the elders may not adapt to live.

When we check in, the front desk lady was being nice and friendly Unfo you missed our room for housekeeping the next day and we came back after 6pm, called the front desk to arrange it and was rejected at first as after 4pm. At the end a lady came by and changed the towels. We didn’t put any DNB sign on so it was entirely upto your handling, not upto our expectation for Marriott group in this regards

GGuest UserIt is recommended to live near the Volcano Park. This hotel is 5 minutes away from the Volcano Park, which is very convenient. The Volcano Park is too big, it takes at least two days to visit, so we choose to live in this hotel nearby and can visit the Volcano Park carefully. In addition, the hotel has a century-old restaurant, which is not bad, but the price is too expensive.

GGuest UserThe Condo was in good condition, could’ve used new carpet and paint touch up but despite that very clean!!! The size the condo was perfect and we could see the ocean from the patio doors. The kitchen was well serviced with clean nice dishes. The washer/dryer was a fabulous feature we used!! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was including and easy to find. Condo was close to Kona Inn shopping and the bypass road used for Hwy 11. Would definitely recommend staying there!!! The guest book in the condo to write your own entry was so fun to read what other guests had done!!

JJordan NicholasNestled along the serene shores of Waikoloa, the Hilton Waikoloa Village is a haven of luxury and tranquility. Our recent stay at this breathtaking resort was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the impeccable service, stunning accommodations, and picturesque surroundings. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. The check-in process was smooth, and to our delight, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Royal Suite in the palace tower. Stepping into our suite, we were greeted by spacious elegance and panoramic views of the beach and lagoon. Every detail, from the plush furnishings to the tasteful decor, exuded luxury and comfort. The grounds of the Hilton Waikoloa Village are a true testament to paradise. Meticulously maintained gardens, winding pathways, and cascading waterfalls create an oasis of serenity amidst the lush landscape. We spent hours exploring the resort, discovering hidden gems around every corner. Whether lounging by the pool, strolling along the sandy shores, or indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment, every moment was a blissful escape from reality. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the friendly greetings to the attentive care, every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Whether offering recommendations for dining or arranging memorable excursions, their genuine hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable. As seasoned travelers who have explored destinations around the globe, we can confidently say that our time at the Hilton Waikoloa Village surpassed all expectations. It was more than just a vacation – it was a transformative experience that left us longing to return. If you're searching for paradise on earth, look no further than this remarkable resort.

GGuest UserA review of the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort: My family and I recently completed a vacation stay at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. Overall, the resort is wonderful with a few rough edges. The resort is located on the west side of the Big Island, about 30 miles north of the airport -- with ”island traffic” plan on 30-45 minutes if you need to travel down into Kona. This resort takes full advantage of its beach location, which is consistently rated one of world's best. Hapuna Beach is an amazing long crescent-shaped beach great for swimming and snorkeling (near the coral at the edges of the beach. We saw turtles, octopus, and a wide variety of fish). The beach is perfect for families with children, though the water can get a little rough if the trade winds are blowing. Check-in was smooth and efficient. My elite membership was recognized as well as my birthday during our visit. We were offered points of elite breakfast credit, which included continental breakfast for two in Ikena Landing. Upon arriving to our room, we were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and assorted goodies for our celebration. Our room was clean and well-appointed. We were staying on a points redemption, so no SNA option. We had a ”partial” ocean view room but I suspect we were given an ocean view room because we had a wonderful view of the ocean and resort grounds. According to front desk personnel, the resort did have a handful of ”lanai” rooms near the ground level with no view whatsoever, including a small number of no-view suites. We had a spacious bathroom with shower and tub; also a wonderful lanai with a table & chairs along with a comfortable outdoor couch perfect for lounging in the evening with a beverage while watching the sunset. All service requests through the chat function were promptly met and taken care of throughout our visit. Note, this resort also had a free guest laundry facility with detergent and other supplies -- perfect if you pack light or just want to clean off your swimsuits before you head home. Our main gripe relates to the food & beverage offerings and service. The resort's dinner restaurant, Meridia, takes full advantage of the resort views and location. Unfortunately, that's about all it has going for it. For the price point, the food was marginal and service was lacking. For a similar price point, I'd suggest heading up-country to Merriman's for terrific farm-to-table food and great service. As I mentioned, we received elite continental breakfast for two at Ikena Landing, each morning. Upgrade to the full buffet was offered for an additional $25 per person. Prices were steep for breakfast. Servers were friendly but took a while to get food out at times. I would recommend, particularly families working within a budget, to try Piko Coffee Bar. Piko has much better coffee options throughout the day and also offers a variety of hot/cold grab-and-go options (at breakfast, eggs, hash browns and breakfast meats, pas

Hilo to me is an agreeably funky place and this accommodation is perfectly in line with that impression. It is set a bit away from the city's downtown, such as it is, in a residential area. The property itself must have once been a residence itself, and is divided into two parts, the original lodge and an annex across the street. We stayed our one night in the annex in a double room, which was equipped with its own bathroom, a microwave and lots of storage space, but no television--for that you had to access a common area, which also had a small kitchen. Definitely the place must have once been a house. The front desk is not open all hours and you have to time your arrival to accommodate this, but the staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful. Arnott's also runs tours to various parts of the island that leave from the premises, one of which (up Mauna Kea to the observatories) we'd accessed several years prior. All in all Arnott's would probably not be your cup of tea if your idea of a Big Island vacation is the glamorous resorts on the Kona side, but for us the laid-back, peaceful atmosphere was perfect.

3333ひろ333I was surprised at how big the resort hotel was. There was a tram, but no boats. The service to make inquiries in Japanese ended in March. The shuttle bus to the nearby shopping mall was $5 one way, so I walked there (just over 20 minutes). The room was spacious, but the water flow in the bathtub was not so good. From the room, you could see the golf course and the sea. The grounds are large, so I got up early in the morning and took a walk, which felt great. The best spots to see the sunset were written on the map of the grounds, so I was able to see a really beautiful sunset. There were sea turtles and dolphins, and a fun pool, so I had a wonderful time.
