Staybridge Suites Plano-The Colony is not the same hotel we stayed in back in 2021. This go around, the hotel--at least the room we were in--was pretty tired. Ceiling repairs were very subpar; walls pretty dinged up; desk chair had burn holes throughout; both leg rests for the couch were so rickety they would collapse if anyone were to sit on them; when we checked in our bedding had unknown stains and marks on them; the kitchen set-up was so anemic that we had to wash dishes after every meal or snack; the microwave was not working, having been replace with a small desk one; no ventilation in the bathroom; and we stopped counting.
We are hardcore Staybridge clients and I have to say that this was by far the worst we've stayed in the last 7 years.
The place is not irredeemable. It can be saved. It just needs some major updating and a commitment from management for high standards to be maintained.
I would not say "don't stay" here. I would only caution you not to get your hopes up. We were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and a birthday and I failed to deliver the goods this go round. Oh well. You win some, and you loose some I guess.
