Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa

We went for spa usage and facilities and was disappointed to find out swimming pool and spa were closed on Saturday @ 7pm. We then went around 8am on sunday only for one third of the swimming pool being closed for a few children’s swim class. The pool was already pretty small and it wasn’t as calm or relaxing any more as children were splashing etc. it’s a shame but I think the hotel needs to really allow longer hours for people to enjoy a more relaxed time in swimming pool for longer hours.

Friendly staff , really clean hotel room with plenty of space . Great breakfast and a nice little spa area . Lots of parking .

Really disappointed in this hotel. We had stayed in another hotel a few months prior so were really looking forward to staying at this one from the same chain. My previous review shows what a great time we had in November; it was truly a brilliant experience. The Cambridge Belfry, on the other hand, is just so run down - exposed holes/wall plugs in the bathroom and walls in desperate need of repair in the ladies’ changing area. We were disappointed not to have packed wellies to wade through water that came up to our ankles in the clogged shower, and our hairdryer stopped working so we couldn’t dry off said soggy ankles. The hotel is littered with misspelt signage - we were unsure how exactly the lounge had been reversed for a wedding party and confusion further ensued when we thought we had travelled to a Cambourne in the States upon reading the notice for ‘busses’ to the city centre. It was to be expected since the name on the door, ‘Cambourne Belfry’, had been misspelled ‘Cambridge Belfry’. On the plus side, the petrol station down the road does sell incredible white chocolate chip cookies when the three dishes you want from the dinner menu - fish and chips, duck salad, tomato and burrata salad - are all unavailable and you don’t want to pay £2.25 for a single packet of crisps at the bar. They are the best white chocolate chip cookies we have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Really soft, very generous on the white chocolate, not too heavy, very moreish. We stopped off at the same brand shop on the way home but to our utter dismay they had no white chocolate chip cookies. We will definitely return for more white chocolate chip cookies from the petrol station. Bed and breakfast at the hotel is not worth £122 - but the petrol station white chocolate chip cookies absolutely are.

Didn’t see one member of staff come round and mop spa, pick up towels, ect. Needs some TLC and some staff to keep on top of stuff. Water machine not working. No robes for us to use. Food in bar very good and breakfast also very good.

Just a brief one night stop while visiting family in the area. Nice clean room stocked with all the essentials, comfy bed, friendly staff. Used the pool in the morning, good size, good temperature plus modern and well maintained facilities.

You are unable to check in till 3 but they have the spa booked for child swim from 2.30 - 6.30. I understand that there should be child swim sessions but this takes up the whole afternoon and leaves half hour for access after before spa closing. They were not allowing access as it was busy. I would suggest they reduce the time from 2.30 - 5. The room was very cold and when we called reception they gave us a portable heated that had not been PAT tested.

Breakfast was limited and not nice at all, plates were dirty. Jacuzzi was dirty and so were the toilets , food menu was limited and very expensive , two tiny bottles of water given for kettle enough for one coffee, would never return there again

My second visit. Staff were friendly & very helpful. Treatments wonderful. Sitting by the lake early evening was a delight & bonus a wonderful nature walk nearby! Air con would have helped with sleeping.

Belfry Cambridge Made a reservation in the restaurant for 730 however they took too many walk ins so had to wait and then be told we could sit in the bar despite booking table. Ordered food, only when paid to be told a 30 minute wait on food! This was after we had ordered!! Service has not good enough. Food was overly priced and dry! Then reported mess outside room, broken tile, chunks of mess everywhere to be told it would be cleaned, still there this morning. No air con in rooms so had to open windows, no problem, however had to shut windows at 1130 due to noise, music and shouting from another room. Reported noise at 12:25 still ongoing at 1am. Worst nights sleep ever.
