Really nice welcome at this town centre hotel which has been nicely refurbished and offers comfortable and relatively spacious rooms. Very convenient position and easy to get into Cambridge by bus...thus avoiding traffic and outrageous parking fees! We only had breakfast there which was fine...but only served until 9:00am...too early for us old folks! We enjoyed our stay and would certainly return if in the area. Only downside is the hotel does not have private parking to public car parks are nearby.

the hotel itself is perfectly situated and all you would expect. Room 6, whilst a superior room is totally enclosed in a small courtyard without any natural light and above the bar which had a live band. We both love music but the room was vibrating still at at 10,45pm. Staff service was as always very attentive.

Absolutely fantastic food for dinner and breakfast and hotel was clean tidy and well kept and loved the communal area and restaurant layout Staff were friendly from check in to check out and would definitely stay again if we were needed to visit this area

Food was good and well presented. Was a bit late arriving due to not enough staff. Generally the party went to plan with everyone getting the food they pre ordered.

Beautiful room. Huge bath. Everything immaculate.superb staff from room maids to Manager. Fabulous breakfast. Eggs Benedict to die for. We will 100% use other hotels in the chain

Everyone is so kind and smiley and customer service is quick, food has always been tasty, I have never complained or had to send back food, rooms are amazing and sweet treats are left for you in the rooms, they hold a few private events and have always been on top form

They advertise breakfast but they wouldn't serve us as we were non-resident and it was before 9 am. However, the place was overrun with staff and the dining area all set out and the place was waiting for a customer. No guests to be seen, dining area completely empty. Insane not to give the staff permission to serve non residents when the restaurant is totally empty. We walked up to The Local Cafe instead and The Golden Lion lost £35.
