I recently stayed at the Sun Beach Hotel in Agia Triada with my husband and our 5-year-old daughter, and our experience was quite mixed. Rooms and Amenities: The hotel is housed in an old building, and it shows in the condition of the rooms and furniture. The room we stayed in had outdated and worn-out furniture, including a very old and dusty carpet. The curtains were also dusty, which is unacceptable for a hotel. The balcony was concerning as the fence moved with every touch, making it feel unsafe. There was no kettle in the room, which I found to be an inconvenience. A small fridge was provided in the room, tucked inside a piece of furniture. While it was handy to have, the fridge was quite noisy, and the constant hum made it difficult to sleep properly. One particularly unsettling aspect of our room was the door in the middle that connected to the adjacent room. It seemed to offer little soundproofing, as we could clearly hear the conversations of the people next door. This was especially unnerving at night, and it made us feel less secure and disturbed our sleep. The beds were okay, with one separate bed and two twin beds, and the mattresses were decent. However, the central air conditioning system was not functioning properly, causing issues in the hallway and at the reception area. Key Card and Door Issues: When we arrived, the key card for our room didn’t work, so we were given a regular key instead. Unfortunately, the door was extremely difficult to open, even showing marks from previous struggles to push it open. This added unnecessary frustration to our stay and made entering our room a hassle. Cleanliness and Hygiene: The hotel operates a policy of changing towels only upon request, which is environmentally friendly and reduces excessive detergent use, so I appreciated that aspect. However, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing. The pool was overcrowded, and it was clear that hygiene standards were not being enforced. I observed people with visible fungal infections on their nails being allowed into the pool, which was quite disturbing. Despite the pool area looking nice at first glance, this lack of care for hygiene was a major drawback. Service: The service at the reception was another low point of my stay. We had express check-in, but the staff did not respect the check-in hours of 14:00, nor did they honor the express check-in service. The receptionists were rude and unhelpful, which left a bad impression right at the start of my stay. Breakfast: The breakfast was decent, with a buffet offering a variety of options that could cater to most tastes. However, a significant inconvenience was the lack of ingredient labels on the buffet items. This was particularly problematic for my daughter, who has dietary restrictions. It made navigating the buffet more challenging, and I would strongly recommend the hotel address this issue for the sake of guests with food allergies or special dietary needs. Bathroom: The

The room had an unsafe door handle which could have easily been opened without a key card. Staff said this was normal. We did take photos of this as we were shocked this was classed as normal. We stayed in many places during our stay in Greece and loved how friendly it was and had no hotel issues at all. Shower and facilities in this hotel were passable. The hotel had put a blue rope next to the pool but no official signage to say it was closed. It was a calm, sunny afternoon and the swimming pool was closed due to apparent adverse weather conditions leaving many families and children disappointed as this was the only reason they had booked the hotel. We booked a standard double room with balcony which we got. Our view was awful as it overlooked a motorway and car hire company but we did get what was advertised and did not complain about this. Not the hotels fault but the area was plagued with mosquitos and lots of children were savaged by this (you could see them everywhere). The breakfast provided had a good range of different food options and was quite nice. Other good points about this hotel were that the some staff were friendly and the free shuttle out of the place was easy with a friendly driver. If you have an early flight this hotel would be ok but you should arrive late in the evening to not be disappointed,

The process requirements are in line with Hyatt's standards, and the counter operations are international high-standard professional reception services. There are no shortcomings! The most satisfying thing is the pick-up and drop-off service provided by the concierge. Not only a few days before arrival, the airport pick-up meeting point map and step-by-step graphic instructions were emailed, making the pick-up and drop-off service simple and convenient, and it is also free. It’s absolutely perfect!!

This is a lovely hotel— spacious well-appointed rooms, little balconies (but no outdoor furniture), nice breakfast buffet, welcome snacks, lemon water in the lobby, nice courtyard area. BUT it is in a desolate flat commercial wasteland of abandoned buildings, grubby auto shops & even the occasional streetwalker behind the hotel.I’m not saying the area isn’t safe (as an American, I was probably much safer here than at home), but it is almost a 3km walk to anything of interest as a tourist. unless you are attending a conference onsite (as we were), you can find cheaper hotels in more attractive neighborhoods closer to town.

As long-term and frequent travelers to Thessaloniki, we found ourselves unexpectedly at the Mediterranean Palace through a snafu in reservations at another hotel in Thessaloniki. Dismayed at the unplanned change, we decided to make the best of our remaining trip. The mix-up, however, proved serendipitous. MP exceeded all expectations by far. From this point forward it will be our hotel of choice, a designation well -earned through superlative service by all staff, the finest culinary offerings, Martha-Stewart-topping holiday decorations and events, and choice location adjoining the famous Ladadika historical district of eateries. This is a full-service, five-star hotel (with bath-tubs) that won’t disappoint. We used the spa and restaurant regularly and were delighted even with the last available room in the hotel that offered us a lovely desk and sitting area, with a full bath and quiet location at the end of a corridor. But more than the typical descriptions from brochures and websites, the staff earned our deepest appreciation for their constant assistance. With our visual and mobility challenges, added to our tough “business” schedule, each of the staff looked out for us and helped make our trip a resounding success. Their attention to detail, unfailing cheerfulness and politeness impressed us as no other facility across the globe. In particular, we would like to thank the General Hotel and Customer Relations Managers. Not to be omitted are Ms. Katerina of the housekeeping staff; of the waitstaff, Mr. Giannis, Mr. Tassos, Ms. Despoina, and Ms. Georgia, among others who made our stay so memorable. We strongly urge travelers to book their stays at this hotel!

This hotel is so clean and friendly. The rooms are small but oh the beds!! So comfy i didnt want to get up. The bathrooms are also small and not a lot of room to move about but adequate for one :) the room was made up every day. We had a balcony that again small but adequate for 2 to sit out on. This is a city break hotel. There are no beaches near by, it would be 35 mins in a car to the nearest. We spend 6 nights here. We found a lovely place called the AVENUE by the umbrellas design. It had amble seating outside and was very popular by locals. It overlooked the sea, we recommend going here if you want to relax. The breakfast was continental with some hot food but not much, scrambled egg and mini sausages. There was no toast !! The breakfast choice for us was a little disappointing so we did not go on 3 days of our stay. For those who like to have a kettle, bring your own as there is no room facilities. Luckily mum had bought her travel one and tea bags !! There is a small fridge in the room too. We had a comfortable stay here and walked so much as there is a lot to see here. Restaurants are plentiful nearby, just across the road 20 steps away is a fab restaurant Kanoula that was perfect.

Clean, modern and well-provisioned (softest towels I think I've ever come across) with a friendly vibe that caters equally well for business travellers as for tourists. The hotel is within walking distance of all Thessaloniki's main sites and has loads of restaurants just behind the hotel, which is right opposite the sea. Downside is that city planners put a main road all along the sea front, but the double glazing cut out most of the traffic noise and there were some thoughtfully provided earplugs next to the bed too! Breakfast was jaw-droppingly good, with freshly made goodies from fried egg bagels to sweet and savoury pies arriving constantly from the kitchen. And the staff were just brilliant. From the lovely team at the front desk (top tip - if you have a car with you, make sure you reserve a discounted parking space at the same time as booking your room) to the catering team and the cleaning staff - everyone was friendly, helpful and very good at what they do.

As I was on a business travel I cared only about quiet room to recover, the receptionist fulfilled my request and even more, I got an option of a late checkout at no extra cost. The breakfas was very good, the onle thing I was disappointex with was the drinks from sirup callex juices (in Greece!). Overally I am very happy with my stay, altough redecoration that takes place around the lobby area gives an odd first impression :)

GGuest UserWell located with great view. I recommend to choose sea view rooms, as the view is breathless. Room has all facilities (even smart TV wasn't working for 2 overnights of our stay - despite the fact that we mentioned this twice to the reception staff). Breakfast is really great and I was happily surprised that the buffet was refilled, even 5' before the end. You have two parking options, one on the public streets and another one on the parking area of the hotel, which is a private place and is under payment. Definitely will visit this venue again.

GGuest UserLovely hotel in an excellent location. Staff warm and friendly rooms bedding and towels super clean. No breakfast as too late in the season but coffee shops a minute walk away. Less than twenty steps to the beach with lots of tavernas and small shops. If I could make a suggestion it would be nice to have a kettle in the room with some cups to make a hot drink. We only stayed one night so we will return to spend more time at Avra Hotel and enjoy the super beachfront restaurants and bars. Thank you to the staff for your kindness.
