Room was very dirty and had to clean in myself upon arrival. They didn't care at the front desk.

This is the best hotel in Thermopolis. Yes it’s based but if you’re heading to the Wyoming Dinosaur Centre or camping / hunting it’s the perfect venue. We especially liked the bar - good beer and great food. The number of stuffed animals is a bit disconcerting but appropriate for the hotel.

I was a bit skeptical about booking since the reviews were "all over the place" from one to 5 stars and everywhere in between. Our rooms were OK. They were clean and well equipped. Apparently booked too late to get ground floor, park at door so we lug all our gear upstairs - no biggie. Pool and spa area are very nice with just the right amount of people. We really enjoyed the hot springs pool and got to visit with new friends. We had supper at the restaurant. I'm not a fan of the "dead animal motif" but, I'm not going to knock someone else's idea of decor. Nor am I a fan of the bar-keeps language while talking to local friends but, I wasn't included in that conversation, it didn't offend me, so it's none of my business. However, this doesn't show maturity nor much respect for the families that were in there with their kidz. Dinner was slow (understaffing has struck again) but our waitress was attentive and my steak was great. In spite of some of these shortcomings, our overall experience was good. I pushed it into the "4-star" category because of the "extras" this hotel has to offer and the friendly staff.

Felt so outdated and there was visible damage to the exterior of the building due to impact from a car.

It’s a nice place, just a little old and dated. But we’ve loved staying when we come to town.

Overall a nice place. However, I was told because I booked through *******, in stuck in the handicapped room right by the main desk. It’s loud. The room is cold and I can’t turn up the heat. I physically exerted myself quite a bit today and looked forward to a quiet, comfortable room. The gentleman at the main desk said I wouldn’t be able to move to a different room. If there wasn’t a storm coming in, I’d sleep in my truck. Not ever going to stay here again.

This is an older past glory motel. It started many years ago as a flagship Holiday Inn. Then a Days Inn. Now there’s much to be done to refresh everything. The work is ongoing and as this place will be restored. The rooms are dated and have very few electrical outlets. But they are clean, quiet and functional. No elevator for the second floor. Also, the lobby is the beginning of scores of pictures of animals attacking each other and charging at people before they get shot, even more pictures of dead animals and fish that the pioneer original owners travelled the world to slay. Then there are the scores of stuffed fish and every size and shape of scores of animals mounted on the walls in the lobby going towards the restaurant and bar.Not one type of animal that could be shot was spared and now here they hang, trophies of an era gone by when this was considered to be a great thing. They must have spent millions over the years in the great conquest of every living species. So, this is a PERFECT place to stay if you don’t mind the many dead heads and pictures. Then, if you don’t need to have the state of the art room these rooms are clean and functional. The sign in desk is great and staffed with nice people. They have cookies in the evening and there is always coffee and tea easily available. They also have iced cucumber water and sliced orange water available as well. The breakfast is free and good. The restaurant and bar are excellent. Great location and people so stay here.
