Beautiful hotel location. Staff go over and above to ensure everything is 100% for your stay. At busy times patience is required it’s a popular place to stay and eat

Just had lunch and feel that we were fleeced byThe Fleece. Fish butty which was hunt the fish, three slivers smaller than my little finger hidden by lots of batter. The only good bit was the salad. No value for money. The waitress couldn't careless when I complained. Don't bother ,much better places in Thirsk

This is a review about a visit I didn't make.... I booked the Golden Fleece for a visit 10 months in advance in 2025. Much to my surprise they lifted full payment from my account leaving me with just £9. I only found out when I tried to pay for a meal and my card failed. I remonstrated with the Hotel asking if perhaps they could just take a deposit? But they refused. So this review is a simple warning to potential visitors; don't book the Golden Fleece unless you want ALL the cost lifted from your acount months in advance. Not very good customer service IMHO. How about a bit of flexibility and re-thinking your policy Jim?

We had a standard mews room which was not very spacious but nicely appointed. The bathroom was functional but could do with being updated. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, helpful and professional. Dinner was fabulous, as was the breakfast which was cooked to order.

I checked in on line on the day of our stay. On arrival Reception were super efficient. Superb evening meal. Quality room. One of the best English breakfasts we've ever had.

Place was clean and tidy. Service was not so good. We had to wait to pong fir the meals that did all come together. We also had to ask for more cutlery as there were three of us. Instead of the server bringing it to us my wife was told to wait and take them to the table. Then they wonder why we did NOT leave our usual tip.

I had a wonderful time staying at this hotel - the staff were excellent and it was beautiful an very comfortable. The food was of a high quality.

Dirty room did not impress and service in restaurant was poor. The room was very dusty and the toilet was not clean with staining below the waterline.
