My partner and I just enjoyed a wonderful night away in the Hartley hut and had the hot tub as an add on. We found the retreat peaceful and beautiful. Such a relaxing place to visit. We were greeted on arrival by Amanda the owner who was very welcoming. Amanda had already lit our hot tub wood burner for us to get it going. We were then shown where our accomodation was which was even better than we expected. Such a cosy and cute hut with everything you could need for your stay. We had planned to pop out for dinner but Amanda showed us her menu for the little bistro and we decided to eat there instead. We had a lovely meal and dessert. We were very well looked after during our whole stay, we were not great at keeping our fire going and Amanda brought us a fire log to get us going again. We plan on visiting again in the summer for a longer stay. We did not use the spa facilities on this stay but we will next time. We had a lovely view from our hut, acres of beautiful fields and lots of wildlife, even the goats were friendly. Thank you to Amanda and her partner for looking after us.

We stayed in the Giraffe Enclosure for a long weekend. We were blessed with the weather. The enclosure was fabulous and has everything you need. Very clean. The log burner and electric blankets are lovely for chilly nights. The kids loved the outside. The hot tub was a lovely treat in the evenings. We found some lovely local works. The staff were lovely and friendly too. We had breakfast at the retreat which we all loved. All had a lovely weekend. xxx

Just got back from a nights stay in the Bishy Barney Bee cabin, and what a faultless stay it was. Arrived at 4p.m and was directed to our cabin by Amanda, where the hot tub had already begun being heated. A gorgeous and tranquil setting, with everything you needed to enjoy your stay. We are already looking at availability for our next stay. Thank you for a lovely evening.

This was for a three night stay. When we arrived we called the supplied contact number and was greeted by Sarah who kindly directed us to where to drive our car to unload and then where to park afterwards. We stayed in Dragonfly which consisted of a lodge which was fully equipped with sofas , television, wood burner, kitchen, steam /shower and toilet all of which was clean and ready for our arrival. We had purchased a bbq meat pack which was locally sourced and was of excellent quality and quantity. In the private garden area the wood burner hot tub was very clean and filled with fresh water this was easy to light and maintaining a constant temperature of 38c was not a problem, as we were staying a few days Amanda recommended that they supplied chlorine for the hot tub after day 1. The thermal sauna was also a great addition to the garden area .The other side of the garden area is the bedroom cabin which was clean and warm with the supplied wall heater and electric blanket . The bedroom window overlooks fields with horses and goats . We booked breakfast for our stay which was enjoyable in the safari tent with a wood burner and although it was windy outside we was comfortable . Inside we were told where the coffee and tea was which we sorted out while our breakfast was been cooked . We met Amanda during our first breakfast who is the owner of the business she was very friendly and our dog loved the attention from her . We also had one day the breakfast in bed service which was delivered hot and fresh While staying at the retreat we also booked a facial for my wife and a massage for myself which we both enjoyed. For our stay we needed to purchase more logs which was supplied quickly. The tranquil location with excellent accommodation with friendly staff really made our stay . I believe as long as pricing stays competitive and affordable Thompson hall retreat is somewhere that we can’t wait to return too.

We had a really good stay in 'Firefly'. Everyone on site was very friendly, the space was actually bigger than it looks on the photos, and it was just great place to relax and unwind. I'm sure we will be back. Thank you

Just left after a very enjoyable 3-night stay. Firstly, the service, hospitality and general friendliness and helpfulness of all members of the team was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel extremely welcome. The Shepherds Hut we stayed in, Hartley, was cosy and exactly as described. This location is a fantastic 'get away' retreat it is not designed to compete with something mainstream as it offers completely different things. It has personality, quirkiness and tranquility. It is great to see a small business punching its weight and looking to continually evolve. I wish Amanda and the team every success as they are great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay, despite the downpour on arrival!

Very welcomed on a lovely morning. Facilities are great and lush scenery. All you can ask for in a spa experience Enjoyed a cooked breakfast, sadly was not offered any drinks when food was delivered to table. In my opinion if you go to the effort of using a waitress and also cooking then please offer a full service. Yes you can help your self but you don't know this prior to being seared. Please think this as constructive criticism. The butter... Don't let yourself down here... Your facilities and spa are top notch please stop using the butter in shiny packs.... Please!! Finally..... One bit of toast is a little mean.... Come on make it two don't cost alot and it just looks better than One each.... 😉

Had the most relaxing 3 hours totally off grid in this beautiful tranquil retreat. 3 course Brunch was fabulous and the pool/pond was amazing. Complimentary tea/coffee with plenty of relaxing seating around to just sit back & chill. Lovely friendly staff, can’t wait to come back again and again. Thank you 😊
