Hotel was amazing and the Spa area was unreal . Had a dinner reservation and the Service was really bad. Kept having to ask for things . Items i ordered never came and servers avoided eye contact so we ended up having to wait ages to be served . Food was like warm at best. Very expensive and the costumer service was simply not there.

I & my wife stayed at the Lifehouse Spa for 5 nights from 21st / 26th March 2024. we had booked this in February 2023, 13 months in advance as I was attending a wedding & I was also best man. I would like to keep this review as brief as possible & I don't want to lose focus on the facts. I shall start with the positives first. 1 Grounds & gardens were magnificent 10/10 2 Food in the resturant was superb 10/10. 3 Collect & drop off service very good 10/10. I am afraid this is where our stay starts go into a spiral of somewhat disappointment. We checked in ok & went to our Room (32), it was ok Thursday 21st. The next day we were at a wedding all day Friday 22nd. However for the next 3 days we spent a great deal of time in our room . We had a constant noise in our bedroom which went on throughout the night. Attention to detail in the room very poor for example Small holes in the curtains. Brown stains on the curtains. Toilet did not work properly. Sink did not hold the water . Mattress protector covered in holes. The paint & plaster peeling away in several places . Constant noise from the housekeeping team outside our room constantly.. So I think that would be enough to be going on with however the pierre resistance was yet to come & this took place on Sunday 24th March, my birthday. Sunday afternoon 4 pm my wife had a treatment booked with a therapist (L) . My wife was made to feel very uncomfortabe when the therapist announced in front of other guests waiting, Said I will be doing your menopause massage. It is for my wife to tell people about her condition not the therapist (L). It ruined the experience & that was a waste of £140. The name for the teatment is actually called (Templespa). So we move onto my birthday meal in the evening of the 24th . We had sent our starts back they were not to our taste. The waitress returned with two new starters & as she placed them on the table. She informed my wife & I that the chef said there was nothing wrong with the original starters. We both were very shocked & again it ruined the experience. Why did the chef not come to me himself & tell me, rather than get a young woman to do his dirty work ? I did speak to somebody at the front desk on Monday 25th. I was also informed that our room was underneath the boiler room on 2 separate occasions . This is disputed by (Ms I) front of house manager. I explained about some of my issues. They asked if I would like to speak to guest relations but as we were going home the following day I said no. When we got home my wife & decided to do the online survey & we requested feedbacl. Well we have our feedback & the front of house manager (Ms I) takes on board all the comments about the room & the noise from the housekeeping team. However no mention regarding the therapists commets neither the chef's comments they were not addressed at all, which we find shocking. We stated in an email that we would not be returing to the Lifehouse. However the front of hous

Just arrived back home from a wonderful overnight stay and spa break I booked for my girlfriend’s birthday. Have had family members visit Lifehouse in the past and always came highly recommended, but first personal visit. Rooms were immaculate, as was the entire hotel and beautiful gardens. Very scenic location with great woodland walks and nature spots. Tranquil. Was very warm in the rooms, but had balcony access and did have a fan to keep cool. Staff were very polite and attentive and brilliant service had throughout, special mention to our server at dinner last night, Sophie, who was a delight - bubbly, professional, just a joy. Bar staff and serving staff all worked tirelessly. Food was incredible. Spa facilities were great, can be overcrowded towards the back end of the week I’d imagine as not overly massive amounts of loungers, but great range of steam rooms and hydrotherapy pools. Girlfriend’s massage was very well recommended. We didn’t drive so it was a bit of a trek from the station and along the path to the hotel itself, but then given the location, it makes for a beauty of a remote spot. Really couldn’t fault it in any way. Really relaxing time away. Suppose we spent £500 all in, with all drinks, foods, accommodation, services/access and treatments, but can see why Lifehouse pride themselves on their 4 star rating, and consistent awards across the board. Definitely a guest first approach done right. Would recommend and would likely return in the future. Adults only is a huge plus.

Nice stay at LifeHouse recently. Very warm welcome, staff all really pleasant and helpful. Spa is small but nice, nothing fancy. Restaurant great, and food tasty - one of the plus points we felt, as the serving team were really attentive and did a great job. However, I would avoid going there in the summer months - the rooms are far too hot. It will be cooler to sleep in the sauna in July than one of the 2nd floor bedrooms! C'mon LifeHouse owners, bite the bullet and put some air conditioning for your guests who are paying good money to stay with you. A crappy desk fan doesn't cut it!

This is my first time of returning since lockdown. The whole vibe is more upmarket, very friendly, welcoming staff who went out of their way to help and advise us. The whole building, spa and grounds are admirably maintained. My sister and I could not fault our experience possibly only our menu choices!

My partner was booked for 130pm treatment full body massage , but we can’t check in until 3pm , were told to keep our bags in the locker room which was not big enough Ordered some drinks and lunch , sandwich option request- no tomato as allergic to it , was told by the waitress that the Chef can be funny about request like this ??? It’s 2024 , customer safety with allergens , paramount to your service provision My partner had mediocre massage Checked in the room , carting our bags from the locker room to our rooms , surprised to find out for £345 room rate , no fridge to keep drinks cold , room rate very warm , little fan available to help ventilate , stuff are basic and toilet is really tired , hygiene supply bottles need replacing Half an hour after we checked in our room - a lady just walked in our room as she was given same room key as us - we’re all mortified to find out what just happened Got a call from reception to apologise for the mix up Service at the dinner was great but the broccoli served was not even half cooked Mattress was most discomfort to sleep with and so their pillows are See photos , they all need replacing , disgusting for the amount you charge for the room rate. The best part of this stay was my massage with Lisa- first class service , very professional and she almost made me forget our horrible stay ,well done Lisa.

OMG this place is heaven on earth for an idyllic couples get away. If you don’t want to do anything apart from lounge about in your dressing gown get some treatments and relax in the spa, this is the place for you. The grounds are beautiful and the staff fantastic. We’re defiantly coming back with our best friends next time for a couple of days. A must visit if you want to get away from it’s all.
