We booked this originally as a place to get our head down after a gig at the castle, but ended up falling for its charms and having a thoroughly wonderful stay. The staff are very well trained in customer service, polite and very helpful, The interior is gorgeous and luxurious and has so much quirky charm. Our bedroom was newly decorated with a big wet room. Yes there was a bit of building work still going on but it did not spoil our visit at all. Breakfast was tasty. We had a couple of drinks in the lovely main bar and then again at the end of the night after the gig. Will definitely return.

Exceptional in every way, the food was beautifully presented, we had starters and main and it was absolutely delicious. The staff - Izzy and Jane in particular were incredibly friendly and helpful and the interiors are exquisite. A tremendous time - would definitely recommend.

Cosy and beautiful hotel. It exceeded our expectations. Very good location near the cathedral. Quiet. Very good breakfast with even avocado on a sourdough bread with eggs. Nice restaurants. Friendly staff.

As always The White Hart hotel was perfect offering local restaurants and beautiful landmarks within walking distance. Thank you for providing a beautiful stay for my parents. They loved the large room and bath and breakfast was wonderful also.

The hotel generally , bar, restaurant and staff were all great. It's very well appointed, quirkily decorated and generally very nice. The room was also very nicely done. However no wardrobe. Not even a hook to hang clothes. It's not like there wasn't room for one. Also the window looked out onto the underside of scaffolding and builders rubbish was everywhere outside our window. The builders also decided it'd be great to get the hammer drill out and go to town on the other side of the restaurant wall for the whole duration of breakfast. It was literally impossible to have a conversation. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. So many positive things yet a few silly details that could easily have been avoided.

The hotel oozes character and is in a wonderful location. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff were very attentive. The only minor issues were that due to the location, that the noise from the street was loud on the first floor where are room was. I brought ear plugs so it wasn’t too problematic for me. Also the bathroom in our room bizarrely smelt of cigarette smoke!

Perfect location for visiting the cathedral and castle. First class accommodation. Clean, stylish and comfortable. Staff were attentive and professional. Bailgate is beautiful. Loved our walking tour with Horace who showed us some hidden gems.
