Best Western Plus Oaklands Hotel

Unfortunately this was not a good experience, the double room was basic, outdated and not overly clean and TV didnt work (reported). Long wait for breakfast ＞1hr and when arrived was cold. Staff were nice in particular one guy who was manning reception but also helping in the restaurant as hotel was understaffed.

Decent hotel, rooms a little tired looking, a little expensive as are most hotels in the area, Nice location close to Pub and restaurants

I stayed here on a work trip. The photos on the website did not reflect my experience! You arrive in the car park and enter from the rear of the hotel which is grim and uninviting. The car park was full of vans. The smell of damp was cloying. My room was clean but everything was dated and needed replacing. There was something banging in the wind all night outside that woke me all night. I didn't risk eating in the hotel even though breakfast was included. I left as early as I could and will never go back..

Comfortable bed

The room was a shambles, disgusting carpet, awful bathroom, dirty all over, the curtains didn't close, which when the security lights in the car par outside came on meant the room was lit up all night. The floor was so disgusting I had to wear socks whenever I walked on the floor. the bath was so cheap that the water would pool in the bottom rather than drain away, The staff were great but from this experience I will never stay in a Best Western hotel again. I am not sure I can say anymore to persuade you not to stay here.

Service could be better got ignored buy 1 person on reception milk in fridge 2 weeks out of date left by previous guests large dead wasp on floor and aircon didn't work stayed in a suite so really expected more

Checked in gone 6pm. Room (suite) was absolutely freezing. Got reception to check underfloor heating was working. Still not fully warm at 10pm. Went back to my car and slipped on Moss covered path. Reported to staff member but not concerned. Bed average. Woke up at 8am. Room now very hot. NO Teabags. Told reception. Reply was "OK". Considering the price not impressed and would not go back. Can't rate food as didn't eat there.

We stayed here for our usual Black Friday deal and it was as good as ever. The receptionist who greeted us on Saturday afternoon was so friendly and really helpful. We stayed in the ground floor lodge which is out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the hotel. The lodges are really nice however, they could do with some updating and the balcony decking needs power washing, they would also benefit with a fridge and our bed was really uncomfortable with me waking up with a bad back. We ate in the restaurant which was very good, I ordered the Dirty Burger and my husband the homemade pie which he said was lovely. We also ate in the restaurant for breakfast, my husband ordered the Norfolk breakfast which was massive, my small breakfast was adequate for me and the very tasty. We will be back in the summer as we do like this hotel and its proximity to Norwich and surrounding areas.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very nice, everything thing about the accommodation good enough for me, just the shower was a bit weak, just enough power to get the water out
