Tianjin Golden Crown Hotel

First off, by my standards, this hotel is absolutely worth it – a five-star rating! 1. The location is excellent, very convenient for transportation. It's about a five-minute walk to the Haihe River, and similarly five minutes to the Wudadao area and Xiaobailou metro station. 2. The room's cleanliness is impeccable, truly spotless. Even though the decor shows its age, the housekeeping team keeps it unbelievably clean. 3. Parking is free. 4. The breakfast is also delicious with a wide variety of options; they pretty much have everything you could want. 5. The value for money is exceptional, especially for a family like mine with two adults and two children. Finding suitable rooms can be tough, but they offer one-bedroom apartment suites that allow for an extra bed, and come with a fridge and washing machine. Everything was very clean and odor-free. 6. Both my wife and kids said they'd definitely stay here again next time we visit.

I happened to be there during the peak of Wang Leehom's concert, and my original room type was slow to become available (it was still being cleaned when I checked in). The hotel kindly upgraded me to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise! The room was very comfortable, spacious, clean, upscale, and convenient. The high floor offered unbeatable views in the morning – bright sunshine and a panoramic vista. There was a selection of pillows, and the buckwheat and grain pillows were a delightful surprise; I had a rare, sound night's sleep! It was incredibly refreshing, and I woke up feeling energized. I was there for both business and to visit friends. Waking up and looking out from the 16th floor, I saw the neighborhood, buildings, and school where I lived as a child. Memories from my childhood and youth came flooding back – a feeling of nostalgia, contentment, and healing. The staff's service attitude was excellent. It was a very satisfying and beyond-expectations stay. I wish Jin Huang continued success!

Whenever I visit Tianjin, I always choose the Golden Palace Hotel. Its location is super convenient; the subway is just a short walk away, making it easy to get anywhere. The hotel staff are all very friendly and welcoming. While the room facilities are a bit old, they are clean, tidy, and comfortable. It's great.

The hotel has been renovated, but some of the furniture in the rooms still feels a bit dated. Although the parking garage has three levels, the spaces are not very large, and the exit is quite narrow. Breakfast was good, and the service was excellent.

The hotel's location is pretty good, close to the Haihe River and the Five Avenues. We checked in around 10 PM. After showering, it was almost midnight, and I was still sweating from the heat. I checked the air conditioning, and it sounded like a tractor and was incredibly dirty. It was just blowing natural air at 26 degrees Celsius, less cool than the hallway. I contacted the front desk to switch rooms. The front desk service was okay, but the staff who came to help kept saying that we hadn't had the AC on long enough and that all AC units in Tianjin were the same and only blew cool air. 😓 We switched rooms, and the AC there worked fine; the temperature quickly dropped to 24 degrees with the door closed. However, the sink in the new room was clogged and drained very slowly. By the time we finished all this, it was almost 1 AM. Overall, for Tianjin, it's a decent value for the price, but it's a far cry from a five-star hotel.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic, with a clean and comfortable environment overall. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and responsive, which was a very thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of options, but the real highlight was the authentic Jianbing Guozi and Guobazai. They tasted truly traditional and had an excellent texture, perfectly showcasing local flavors – we were incredibly satisfied. The room was tidy and quiet, offering great value for money. Our entire stay was comfortable and hassle-free. We're extremely pleased and will definitely prioritize this hotel for our next trip. Highly recommended! The best part was the complimentary photoshoot provided by the hotel, which turned out amazing and made us incredibly happy!

I'm really at a loss for words. I can't say the hotel is bad, because the service attitude was excellent. When I asked to change rooms at 6 AM, they arranged it immediately. However, the initial room they gave me, 1811, had an incredibly unbearable smell. At first, I tried to tough it out, but I woke up in the middle of the night from the stench and coughed up bloody snot in the bathroom. It was truly insufferable, and the fumes were affecting my health. I personally suspect there's a problem with the drain's odor trap in the room. It was incredibly frustrating, I didn't get any sleep, and I had other things to do first thing in the morning. I must criticize the front desk for assigning such a smelly room. Has no one ever complained about such a foul-smelling room before? Either don't use it for guests, or find the source of the odor and fix the problem before assigning it to anyone. Giving this room to guests as it is, is just a terrible thing to do!

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to attractions like the Wudadao area, Haihe River, and Porcelain House. The surrounding environment is pleasant, right in the city center. The metro station is just a five or six-minute walk away, and there are shopping malls nearby for shopping and dining. Xiao Fan at the lobby was very enthusiastic and approachable, providing excellent service.
