Next to the Black Sheep bar and restaurant. The check-in procedure is simple and the room is clean and spacious. It is on the highway and very convenient for travel

A lovely little hotel located conveniently near the Almondsbury Interchange. The heating system in the room here is second to none. I absolutely love being all cosy and this little heater was absolutely blasting out heat. The staff here were lovely, to check in you just head to the bar area at the restaurant next door which I believe is called The Black Sheep though I could be mistaken. And then to check out there's key drop off boxes outside the room blocks which is dead handy. Now, though the room was clean and comfortable... I do have one little ******. Why on Earth is the bathroom door... 1) CLEAR? Yes, it's frosted. But I guarantee no one needs to see the outline of my body whilst I am sat on the toilet. 2) Facing the bed. Yes, the frosted glass door is facing the bed. It's not discrete in any way. It is still a lovely place to stay but definitely be aware of the bathroom situation before booking as depending on who you are travelling with it could be a little bit awkward. I know we're all human and we all use the bathroom but as a new couple trying to have a romantic weekend away it was a bit of shock to the system.

Excellent location and superb room compared to the bigger chains. Value for money was exceptional. The hotel is also very close to transport links, making it an excellent choice for an overnight stop. Continental breakfast is available at a reasonable price.

Location perfect for accessing Bristol - and just off the M5. Parking free. Rooms quiet, clean & warm and beds extremely comfortable with beautiful pillows. Fantastic shower. We would also highly recommend the integral Black Sheep pub serving delicious continental breakfasts (the pain aux raisins were to die for) as well as traditional English bacon/ sausage butties. The staff were, without exception, polite and efficient. We are fussy when it comes to where we stay but we honestly would not hesitate in giving our 2 night stay a 10/10.

When we arrived on the Monday evening to book into the Lodge, manager told us to go to the other end. Waited 5 minutes and then the same manager popped his head up and took our details. He then turned round he is closed the bar at 6pm on monday night. He wanted to make the point that he had been working since 6am. At 6.30pm, while enjoying our evening drink, the manager had locked the front door without telling anyone. When we came to leave, he was not very happy and he made the point to show us that he was not happy, and that he needed to reopen the door to let us out. The room was perfect apart from the shower door did not shut and left an inch gap at the bottom so the bathroom door came a fast flowing pond. We then walked over to the Aztec to meet other team members only to find the manager from the Lodge working in the restaurant. On the tuesday morning, the same manager was working during the breakfast period and he advised we could have either a bacon sandwich or a sausage sandwich. When i asked cannot i have both, we pulled a face at me. The following morning, the manager was playing solicitar in the dining area while young lady was looking after the breakfast. She was very pleasant and helpful and wish that management would take note of how there staff treat paying guests compare to how the manager did.

I wouldn’t risk staying here again and someone’s going to cut or sever a finger on a very stupid design window locking window which involves pressing in a metal bar inside the frame while closing it .. The window in room 22 on ground floor opens wide so particularly for a girl on their own it’s not safe to stay in there & I guarantee if you asked 100 people to close the window they wouldn’t be able to do it - the metal ***** on the right hand window is broken too but this mechanism needs removing completely in fact it needs reporting to health and safety I eventually closed it using the teaspoon to push the bar in while I pulled the handle Because the windows are so difficult to close the room was cold. The shower head is split in room 22 The shower tray floods into bathroom I don’t believe for one minute that housekeeping or management are not aware of this and if someone loses a finger then the management are wholly responsible I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels as I’m a tour operator and this is the most dangerous window I’ve encountered in the UK

Work commitments meant I could stay at this hotel while my wife ,who is a bit older than me,looked after our assistance dogs. I think this place was lovely and the staff at the black sheep next door were super friendly and efficient although a toastie for £7 is almost Wall Street crash financial madness. Car parking £3 which seemed reasonable as I can claim it back from my employer. If in the area within the next 12 months I would book again. The shower was very powerful as an aside. Happy escapism!

Pleasant hotel just off the M5 motorway in a large (quiet) business park near Bristol. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Lovely bathroom with a double shower, much better than a shower over the bath (just my opinion). Check-in was via the pub next door. Breakfast in the pub was continental with the addition of a bacon or sausage bap if desired. No complaints on the food or service.
