Hotel Chateau Tilques

Booked here for 3 nights and had a very nice stay. Good sized room with modern bathroom and good views from the balcony. The swimming pool also provided a extra treat. Parts of the hotel are in need of some upgrading, peeling paint and stained carpets do give a poor initial impression but did not detract from our enjoyment of the stay. It was disappointing that we could not book a meal in the restaurant. The week before our stay, we received an email from the hotel advising us that we should book in advance but on reply to this I was informed they had no spaces for the entirety of our 3 night stay. I notice other people have also commented on this and it seems a shame as the menu looked very good. I have never stayed in a hotel that did not have a table for me at dinner and I would suggest that the hotel make some changes to allow residents the option. Upon arrival we were asked by the receptionist if we would like dinner to which we replied yes please! She then checked and said there was no tables left! One other small gripe was that the TV in the room had a channel list which included BBC channels. Sadly they did not work due, apparently, to recent heavy rain. All in all though, we would probably return as the room was good and just a 10 minute drive into St. Omer, which was where we went each day for dinner!

Very nice hotel. Beautiful scenery. Not suitable for disabled unless can walk up a flight of stairs. Room was too hot on arrival, but we sorted it.
