Campanile Reims Ouest - Tinqueux

Easy access out of reception hours; clean, warm and modern hotel room. Perfect for an overnight stay when travelling across France.

This hotel is in need of refurbishment. We were advised on arrival that the Restaurant was closed - no suggestions as to alternatives. Bathroom shower screen was dirty with limescale, wooden surface above sink was damaged. Staircase to rooms were rusty and dangerous in places.

The room staff and food were all great. Thé internet wasn’t that good but we were on holiday so not too important. Will definitely be back.

Hotel/motel style a bit tired but very clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. Excellent staff: Francine (evening reception) and Yacin (morning) very professional and friendly. The dogs were welcome. We had a surprisingly excellent dinner and wine. The piece du Boucher and chips and the omelette aux champignons were freshly cooked and delicious. Copious plates with a side salad, real fresh crisp leaves with a freshly prepared olive oil dressing and not the usual plate decoration. Compliments and thank you to the chef who cooked the sauce échalotes and not just warmed it up and stayed in the kitchen to accommodate 2 lonely diners. Despite the gloomy surroundings of the motel a very good stay thanks to these very warm and cordial people.

The hotel itself is fine. All you can expect from a Campanile... Clean and decent breakfast. However, our stay coincided with grape harvest season and was taken over by travelling workers. No respect for other guests with noise levels, clattering all night (did they even sleep) and then to top it all off, their foreman knocked on every door at 530 to wake them up, regardless of whether any workers were in it or not. Campanile hotels should not be taking these group bookings as they must know the disruption they caused. No action from any staff either to quieten them down. You have been warned. Do not stay here in late August if you want any sleep.
