Schooner Motel

Before you book a room in this motel please be very careful about giving them your credit card. My flight to Tofino BC was canceled on Sept 10th by Swoop and I called Priceline to cancel all my reservations for the car and Motel. I was supposed to check in on Sept 13th and canceled on Sept 10th. Even with a cancelation number, I was charged by this hotel for $207.64 dollars for one night. I called the hotel on the day I saw the charge and gave them the cancelation number but the person I spoke to was rude and said there was nothing they could do. I had given them 3 days' notice for cancellation. Their policy online about free cancelations is fake and I rather pay double the amount than go to this motel ever again. Check other reviews, please stay away from this motel. I am sure there are other poor victims out there who have been cheated by this motel.

You have to be very clear how many people are staying with you. The room smells old, the beds are uncomfortable, and no amenities are offered except a fake stove. We stayed for one night and was charged $250 + $60 USD. The maid said we had 7 guests in one room so they charged an additional $30 USD. They threaten to involve the police, also racially profiled us as guests, spoke over and yelled at us. I do not recommend staying here. Save your money on a better and cleaner hotel.

Horrible place. Do not stay here. Super expensive with ZERO basics. Rude customer service, floorboards were coming up off of the floor, dirty, etc. Save yourself from writing the same complaint as me.

When checking in we were given the key to an already occupied room. Fortunately the people were sitting outside before we entered! The front desk person then said she'd upgrade us to another room. This room had ripped curtains, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned as there was sand and hair in the shower and the double bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress didn't have any support left. The fireplace didn't work, the room smelled and overall the room looked very outdated. It was in dire need of painting and updating. In COVID times I expected the room to be a lot cleaner. Being in the heart of Tofino isn't worth $280/night + tax and I'd never stay again until someone new takes over and does some renovations. Shame on the owners for charging tourists such outrageous prices and not putting any money back into the place! I now know why there was availabilty on short notice when everything else was booked.
