This was one of the worst Marriott experiences I have ever had. I found it tricky to get to between traffic and a less-than-obvious turn. Once there, I immediately noticed the grounds were not well-maintained (trash) and the hotel bordered a neighborhood (blocked by a fence) that made me a bit uneasy. I checked in at the front desk as no one had acknowledged my mobile check-in. The staff member was on the phone, presumably with another guest, apologizing and offering the guest reward points for whatever had gone wrong. She then created me, told me my assigned room, and then proceeded to tell me it had not been cleaned yet. I inquired since this was check-in time and was told they had been full the previous night and had not yet ‘caught up.’ She radioed housekeeping and asked them to check the status of the room. Several minutes later a staff member came from the back office, the person who was supposedly checking on my room. This person hadn’t even made it to the floor I was staying on. I asked the person working the desk for any clean room in the hotel. She assigned me a room, I went upstairs and discovered housekeeping had just started to clean the room. I was also taken aback by the chaos in the hallway, a huge number of housekeeping staff members having a very spirited and loud discussion about another employee they were mad at. I walked away to head back to the front desk and was chased down by someone from housekeeping who stated the room was not ready. Little did I know that ready meant a room smelling of industrial cleaner and hardly clean to what I would consider acceptable. One night at this property was like staying at a frat house over a holiday weekend. Poorly maintained, chaotic, and a lack of professionalism across the board were the norms. I think one of the other reviews said it best, stay away!
