Senate Suites Extended Stay Hotel

I made a reservation online and arrived around 8 pm to a dark and locked building. A note on the door said they are not accepting reservations. Im not sure why the online reservations seem to work. I did get an email confirmation. Unable to leave a message or reach anyone by phone.

My a/c was out at my house and it was over 100 degrees. So I packed up my son and headed to the senate. An I have to say a million times thank U to Alonzo. Not only was the room huge with living room kitchen balcony bathroom and bedroom he went and made sure the air was on and running cold for us and the price was awesome. It was clean and Alonzo was super nice and very helpful. Would definitely recommend I plan on staying again.

I reserved 2 nights for my 50th Birthday. My husband and I drover an hour and paid toll on I-70 and when we got there, there was a sign on the locked door indicating they are not accepting reservations and were closed for renovations. My 50th birthday was ruined. I had to spend an hour to book at another hotel and it cost me more. I will never recommend this place or stay here. Horrible Experience..

On June 22nd, I booked a room at this hotel for today, July 8th, for my son and daughter in law for her birthday. This hotel was one I had stayed at before and it had been excellent, really enjoyed our stay. Two hours before check in they called to cancel because they had overbooked, and the front desk person was VERY unfriendly, told me that her manager would not talk to me because it was his day off, and that they never saw the reservation until the day of so they couldn't tell they were overbooked until that date (still, calling at 2pm for a 4pm checkin?) and that my son and his wife could go to another hotel in the area, which this hotel would NOT pay for even though this was their fault. She put me on hold, was very nonchalant about the fact that the hotel was overbooked and they could do nothing about it and told me that they needed to go to another hotel. When I asked which hotel, she put me on hold and then came back as my son had just arrived and said that she had told him. This was not professional, not what I would expect a hotel of this caliber to do, they rate themselves as premium suites, but they certainly are NOT in my book. I will never book here again.

Hands down one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in… and I’ve stayed in a Motel 6 that was much better. Parking is a terribly lit torn up parking lot out back, with the main door poorly signed when arriving after dark. You enter in the basement and take an elevator up to the main floor. The stench is unreal… even worse in the elevator. I had To cover my nose. The girl at check in was rude and very obviously did not want to be there. I can’t Say that I blame Her - the place is awful and I have A feeling she is treated poorly. The suite was old, musty, paint chipped off closet doors, hair in the shower, one room was so tiny the bed barely fit. The tv in the living room was not working. Beds were uncomfortable. Towels were thinner than my tee shirts and less absorbent. There was a small coffee machine with no lid on the pot… and no coffee. An ironing board… with no iron. The area is loud - a lot of traffic noise and sirens. We didn’t attempt breakfast due to the nastiness of the place. I am Pretty laid back and do not expect perfection - but do NOT stay at this awful hotel.

I booked this hotel from a travel booking site. When I got there I was informed of a $50 deposit requirement. Although, I had already payed for the room, they charged me for the room a second time. I’ve called over a dozen times and always get an answering machine with a full mail box. Sent an email, no reply. Beware. Sticking to chain hotels next time I go to Topeka.

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in! Even as I arrived alarm bells rang as the exterior was strewn with rubbish and hideous artificial flowers. The entrance door was filthy and unwelcoming. As soon as I stepped into the dark interior the musty smell hit me. I had to take an elevator up to Reception where I wasn't greeted with a smile by a young woman who looked utterly miserable. The corridors smelt vile as did my room. All the furniture was chipped or damaged. The carpet was filthy. There was no ceiling lights. The windows were held together with plastic and tape. The fridge had some old food frozen in it. The towels were thin and stained. I hardly slept and couldn't wait to leave. I attempted breakfast but it was foul - out of date muffins, watered down juice and the room was dark and dirty. How they can call themselves "luxury" I do not know. Avoid this hotel like the plague!

Great location near the capitol. Bed/shower good. BUT - Room dark - no ceiling light, just a couple of wires. Few staff. Room dirty. No ice. Poor hotel, feels like it is under resourced and waiting to die.

Horrible experience. I was tired, driving from Las Vegas to Cincinnati. I saw this place on Apple Maps, clicked their website, and booked. The price seemed right. Once I arrived, I rang the buzzer. I was asked,”room number.” I replied that I am here to check in. I’ve now been here over 40 minutes and the girl at the front counter does t know how to check me in. I’m tired. I want to go to sleep. The elevator also smells really bad. I’m dreading to see what the room is like, if I make it in there tonight. Oh, and the guy that’s training her over the phone, Alonzo is his name, is super rude! He should be fired. All I asked her was why the $100 deposit amount is not listed on their website. I heard him yell through the phone,”If he doesn’t like it, tell him he can stay somewhere else!” So rude and unprofessional. I really wish I never came here, but now I’m in too deep. Please, do yourself a favor, amd avoid this place like the plague!
