Austens Apartments

Wasnt what we were expecting. This flat can only accommodate 4 people not 6. No fans proviede, the blinds were no good, just let the sunlight in the rooms.

Booked very last minute as original accommodation in Torquay wasn’t acceptable (unrelated to this accommodation). This apartment was clean and suitably sized for our trip. I wouldn’t describe it as luxury but acceptable. Positives- clean, close to beach, parking space, comfortable beds. Negatives (which could be addressed easily)- massive oak furniture in bedrooms could be replaced with something smaller to make room to walk around beds, a newer / bigger internet TV with Netflix etc would be a great addition, perhaps also one in the bedrooms too, more cooking equipment- there were only 3 plates, no oven proof baking dishes, no washing up liquid or hand wash, no cooking oil, salt or pepper. If there were high temperatures outside, I would imagine this apartment would be unbearably hot - bring a fan (only one provided). Summary- ok, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Location was great as it’s only a short walk to the seafront. Apartment is located by a crossroads therefore could be loud when busy as well as people walking past the windows but knew that when we booked it would be Apartment was spacious so fine for us, a family of 5. Had issue with WiFi but they were helpful. We stayed in flat 4 which was ground floor so ideal carrying stuff to and from My only criticism is no washing machine, leaving us with wet clothes from the beach and every time you walked back in there was an odour, like sweat in the hallway and lounge. Car park ideal but very tight if you have a larger vehicle

So we are creatures of habit. We find a place we love and just go back again and again. Apartment 6 is perfect. So well appointed. Up the road are 2 little shops selling everything you need . Down the road is Alberts sports bar. It was my birthday and Jo laid out the table with wine and choccies for us. This place is perfect.
