Hotel Marad

The front desk staff at this hotel was unhelpful and rude at best. They made us feel as if our stay was an inconvenience to them. Especially the older man and tall woman with long brown hair. Anytime we asked a question or for help the answer was, “ no “ I had three rooms that I reserved well in advance. Upon check in they overlooked the front stairs and parking lot. I asked for just one room to be changed. The answer I received was a flat uncaring, no. She didn’t even check or care to help. I said no? Can you at least check? She agin replied with a smirk, no. Frustrating at best. Then they speak Italian in front of you to each other and laugh. They did this many times. But not when we were with people who understood. One relative called them out on it and they made like they didn’t know what she was talking about. Our stay didn’t get much better with the front desk throughout our stay. They were all equally unhelpful and can definitely use a course in customer service, manners and hospitality. The saving grace was Dario at the pool, Pasquale and Alessandro. They all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. The front desk staff can use to take some lesions from them. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job cleaning rooms and keeping the hotel polished. The rooms - the rooms are a bit small and there is limited space for clothing. We had to leave a lot in our suitcases as there are no dressers. For two people sharing a room it’s difficult. The shower is very small and odd. The shower is a perfect square shape and sliding glass doors really don’t leave much room for you to move around. Tall and hefty people will have a very difficult time navigating in it. The air conditioning is terrible and the water smells like sulfur as do the hallways. The room only has one key! This makes it very difficult when there are more than one person in the room. They encourage you to leave the key at the front desk so it’s always available for whoever is in your room but we didn’t feel comfortable doing that. Plus this is 2022! If you must use an actual turn key, at least make 2 for each room? The pool closes at 6 the sky bar closes at 12. The wait staff at both places are amazing. The pool area is small and no frills but it served the purpose. We asked for music one day and Dario happily obliged. He was so wonderful kind and we found him to be the shining star of the hotel. The breakfast they offer is terrible. Eggs and hot dogs? I’ll pass. Canned fruit salad, assorted croissants and breads, Cheese slices and ham. Because of the terrible breakfast we never ate dinner at the hotel. We did do lunch by the pool and for pizza sandwiches and salads it was fine. Our stay was good because of the people we were with. We were able to make our time there bearable. The servers I mentioned were memorable and saved our trip. Would we return or recommend this hotel ? No I could not. Unless you had to be in the area and had no other choice
Hotel Poseidon

This hotel is a mixed bag of great and not so great. The location is very good for hoping onto trains (best use the circumvesuviana line) to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento. The best train line to/from Naples and Sarno is the one outside the hotel. The staff were very helpful and attended to our requests for information and equipment (for the room). On the last point, we booked a 2 bedroom apartment that was very spacious, comfortable beds, nice views and very clean. However, while the apartment had a fridge freezer, it did not have a sink unit or any utensils to self cater. We asked for a kettle, some cups, spoons and glasses etc so we could prepare drinks and snacks, but it would have been nice if these could have been provided as standard. There are a couple of decent supermarkets nearby but check the opening times, especially on Sundays/holidays. We can highly recommend the Ristorante pizzeria Da Ciccio for food and drinks. The key down point is arguably beyond the control of the hotel but we were disappointed with the amount of dog mess on the streets near the hotel and in Torre Del Greco generally; this appears to be a local issue as the problem was not as prominent in Sorrento, Naples, Capri or Stabia. Overall a good value hotel with lovely staff but room for improvement regarding the room facilities.
Villa de Cillis Carafa

Our experience at Villa De Cillis was beyond all expectations. Located in the best panoramic point to admire the spectacular Sorrento Coast and the majestic profile of Naples, this villa presents itself as an authentic paradise for lovers of breathtaking views. The impeccable and courteous service made our stay unforgettable from the moment we arrived. The staff demonstrated unparalleled excellence, guaranteeing a warm welcome and assistance attentive to every detail. The rooms, undoubtedly 5 star luxury, are a real jewel. Each room is tastefully furnished, combining classic and modern elements to create an atmosphere of timeless elegance. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the comfort of the beds and furnishings is worthy of the best luxury hotels. However, what makes this hotel truly unique is its prime location. The panoramic view of the Sorrento Coast and Naples is simply breathtaking, turning every moment spent on the terrace into an unforgettable experience. In conclusion, the Villa is much more than just accommodation; it is an oasis of luxury and tranquility. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an elegant retreat with the best possible view of the beautiful Campania region.

Good good berry good. Sit on the bed and see Sorento and Capri Island far away. There is a beach right in front of you and a food truck comes in the evening. It is a hidden attraction that only Italian locals come. All the staff are friendly and clean the room every day. The room is big and spacious. Breakfast is free but the menu is not varied. There is a small theme park next to it, which opens every weekend evening. There are many Italians on weekend evenings. The sea is really beautiful. However, it is a bit difficult to move without a car. You only have to go by train, but it takes about 15 minutes to walk from the train station. It's not good to walk because it's not good to walk. Recommended to rent. It was good to have a decent mart right next door. The Internet is a little poor.
