Beautiful views from our room and the pool area. Convenient location to Capitol Reef. Grabbed lunch and dinner at other spots in Torrey—very easy to access lots of options. Got some awesome recommendations from the desk team about what to see and do in the park and on our way to our next stop. Definitely enjoyed it.

This is an old refurbished motel. Public areas are attractive. Our room was clean, small and uncomfortable. The bed was so soft we both struggled to sleep. The chair in the room needed to be replaced. The location is perfect for a Capital Reef visit. Lodging options are limited. This is a clean, safe choice.

Overall the hotel and room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The room was quite expensive compared to other hotels in the area when I stayed and I didn't feel like it was worth what I paid for it. The connected restaurant was also quite pricey.

Easily one of the best hotels I have stayed in! We only got to stay one night so we didn’t get to try out any of the spa services, but the staff is so friendly, the a**osphere is extremely warm and welcoming, and the rooms! The rooms were very clean, very nicely decorated, and the view was out of this world! Make sure to take a walk through their rock garden, it’s like something out of a movie! I wound up making pretty good friends with the horse who lives behind the property, and it was fun getting to watch the cows and their calves run around and play while I drank my coffee in the morning. We made sure to save this hotel so that we can come back again in the future. You won’t be sorry!

We recently stayed at Red Sands while visiting Capitol Reef and its a lovely place. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Staff was wonderful. Close proximity to the entrance of the park. Highly recommend this hotel. No hesitation. Breakfast can be a bit expensive. $5 for a cup of coffee. That being said, the breakfast and coffee were good.

Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with great views. Great walk in showers with all the necessities. On site restaurant and bar a big plus at end of day hiking and traveling. Breakfast delicious. Friendly staff. Did not use hot tub or spa but looked inviting.

Good location. Close to some nearby amenities. Great access to Capitol Reef. Overall quiet. Spacious and clean room with lots of natural light. Comfortable bed with good pillow options. Nice views from the window of the nearby fields. Room is well equipped. Appreciated the coffee and tea in the lobby. Everyone who worked there was friendly, specifically Dakota. The grounds are nicely landscaped and clean. Unfortunately the on-site restaurant isn’t great, not the food or the service. Loved going to see Whiskey the horse. He was very friendly and came up to the fence for pets. I am an animal lover and it was a highlight for me during my stay. Although I am not a horse expert, it would be nice if Whiskey had more shelter options as well as enrichment activities. He didn’t seem sad by any measure, but he also didn’t seem as happy as the horses in the field next door (the black horse and white pony). It would be nice for guests to have the opportunity to learn about Whiskey and to see someone care and interact with him. Perhaps this happens, but I just didn’t see it during my stay. Horses may not be special for some, but not everyone gets to see a horse this close. I think the hotel could do more to create a learning opportunity for guests and help them appreciate and respect animals.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Great job on updating an older hotel. Quiet. Friendly personnel. Would be a 5 star if the bed was more comfortable. The bed is a foam, latex type mattress, which was a little soft and hot for my husband and I. Nice touch with the spa and on site restaurant. Close to Capital Reef National Park.

This place was perfectly suited to my trip exploring Capitol Reef park as well as the areas along Highway 12 down to Grand Staircase Escalante. Despite a raging wind storm the day and night I stayed, I was very comfortable in the room which, although a little dated, was spotlessly clean. Everything in the room worked. There is an onsite restaurant and cafe and I can highly recommend the food. The service was terrific as well. Just down Route 24 into Torrey there is a handy market that has pretty much anything you might need as well. I have to give a particular shout out to Sherry (I hope I spelled that correctly), who worked to get me into my room early and who was also very helpful with information about the hotel and the area. If you're in the Capitol Reef National Park area for several days I would recommend staying at Red Sands.
