Good location. Close to some nearby amenities. Great access to Capitol Reef. Overall quiet. Spacious and clean room with lots of natural light. Comfortable bed with good pillow options. Nice views from the window of the nearby fields. Room is well equipped. Appreciated the coffee and tea in the lobby. Everyone who worked there was friendly, specifically Dakota. The grounds are nicely landscaped and clean. Unfortunately the on-site restaurant isn’t great, not the food or the service. Loved going to see Whiskey the horse. He was very friendly and came up to the fence for pets. I am an animal lover and it was a highlight for me during my stay. Although I am not a horse expert, it would be nice if Whiskey had more shelter options as well as enrichment activities. He didn’t seem sad by any measure, but he also didn’t seem as happy as the horses in the field next door (the black horse and white pony). It would be nice for guests to have the opportunity to learn about Whiskey and to see someone care and interact with him. Perhaps this happens, but I just didn’t see it during my stay. Horses may not be special for some, but not everyone gets to see a horse this close. I think the hotel could do more to create a learning opportunity for guests and help them appreciate and respect animals.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Great job on updating an older hotel. Quiet. Friendly personnel. Would be a 5 star if the bed was more comfortable. The bed is a foam, latex type mattress, which was a little soft and hot for my husband and I. Nice touch with the spa and on site restaurant. Close to Capital Reef National Park.

This place was perfectly suited to my trip exploring Capitol Reef park as well as the areas along Highway 12 down to Grand Staircase Escalante. Despite a raging wind storm the day and night I stayed, I was very comfortable in the room which, although a little dated, was spotlessly clean. Everything in the room worked. There is an onsite restaurant and cafe and I can highly recommend the food. The service was terrific as well. Just down Route 24 into Torrey there is a handy market that has pretty much anything you might need as well. I have to give a particular shout out to Sherry (I hope I spelled that correctly), who worked to get me into my room early and who was also very helpful with information about the hotel and the area. If you're in the Capitol Reef National Park area for several days I would recommend staying at Red Sands.

The staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating. It was very welcoming to have 24 hour access to iced water, coffee bar, hot chocolate, fruit and oatmeal. Two reasons I could not give 5 stars , first the thin walls, we could hear the people upstairs talking. Second, one of the windows in the room was fogged blocking the view of the beautiful view.

If you are visiting Capitol Reef National Park and spending the night nearby, you will find yourself in Torrey, UT. There are several overnight options, but they are all mid-range at best. This property is perfectly satisfactory, though nothing fancy. It has a restaurant (where we had a decent breakfast) and a pool and spa (which we did not sample). The rooms were neat and clean and the staff was polite and accommodating. I'm sure you could do far worse, and I don't know if you could do better in the area.

Red Sands Hotel was awesome! Although it's an older hotel, it's very clean and well maintained. I love the location - secluded enough to really enjoy Torrey, yet the restaurant/ bar downstairs and a nearby coffee shop (Wild Rabbit) allowed for my winter stay to be quiet and relaxing. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The ambiance of the entire hotel was awesome. I'll definitely visit again!

This hotel was our third stop on our odyssey of Utah’s Mighty Five National Parks. Dakota checked us in to the hotel. He was friendly and welcoming. Our room was sparking clean. Lamar took care of us at the delicious restaurant on property. This hotel had lots of thoughtful touches that made our stay lovely— stargazing out a balcony, a rock garden out back, horses grazing out the back window.

We had a wonderful stay. Your rooms are so nice. Your beds, bedding, sound proofed rooms made for a great nights sleep. We really enjoyed the Aragan products for showering. We are so happy we chose to stay at Red Sands! You really need to improve your internet bandwidth. Also a nice comfortable chair in the corner of the room would be awesome! But these are minor things, not meant to be complaints, but rather helpful feedback.

We have a nice big room on the second floor. They only allow pets on the first floor and we have allergies so we were glad to know they don’t allow pets everywhere. Ours was a suite room with two queen beds and enough room to add a rollaway bed. The big windows and view were beautiful. We ate dinner at the restaurant, the menu looked really good but they were short staffed and what we actually got wasn’t quite the same as what was on the menu. All of the staff were nice and the place was very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.
