Overlander Hotel

Honestly one of the worst places I've ever stayed. I've had to reactivate my 4 year old Trip Advisor account as that's how bad it was. This location is incredibly dangerous. The motel rooms are dirty, broken and the air-cons are garbage. They put my LIFE in danger multiple times. 4 men had unauthorised access to my room at 1:30 am with a key they lost but refused to change the locks for. THANK GOD I wasn't home at the time. lost 10k in possessions. Was also hospitalised for carbon dioxide poising here. Bar stayed open and guest unaware. All of this not a single apology or good gesture. Was nearly stabbed in the parking lot by motel rooms intervening in someone smashing their way into a room where a lone girl was screaming. Got punched by unlicenced security for telling management about him letting underage (12-15 yo) enter to collect smoke butts. Wasn't dealt with at all. Kitchen filthy, roaches & rats. If you've read a review about them serving a live roach on someone's plate. That was true. I was there. I wish I could wright about my whole experience but the word count is too low. Please read my google review for a more detailed review with photos. Just do yourself a favour and stay way. Owner Joe does not care for your safety. If an incident happens he claims 'they arn't insured' and shrugs it off. I have evidence to support all claims.

This motel is great if you're staying in Mt Isa on business and need a place to sleep. Checking in was great and efficient and easy to find. The room was clean even though dated but I wasn't looking for 5 star and I wasn't disappointed at all with the cleanliness. My room had a TV, tea and coffee facilities as well as a microwave and fridge. The motel is quiet and though the rooms look as though you'd hear the neighbours, I didn't nor the pub next door.
