Several historical comments did not paint a good picture of this property, but on a recent stay in May 2024 we found the property very well maintained and the team super helpful. Perhaps a new leadership group is now running this property. If so, Best Western should bring new franchisees here to Travelers Rest to see how it should be done.

I have to give a big shout out to the gentleman NAIN he was so kind and beyond nice. I can say he is an amazing asset to best Western. I cannot tell you just how kind sweet courteous this man was even as he was explaining I would have an extra charge because I had two small dogs. He was so kind so apologetic that it didn’t bother me at all to pay the small fee to have both of my dogs, the rooms were very very clean. The bed was comfortable TV reception. Great even has comp elementary drinks with your stay and a pretty good breakfast all in all I give this place a 10 and I don’t give that often. I will definitely be staying there again, and hope to see NAIN again on my next day

It was a good one night hotel for getting there late and then getting up the next morning to go hiking/chasing waterfalls. You can tell it is an older building and probably needs remodeling (or at least new bathrooms- a lot of stains in the shower). But again, for the price and what we needed it for it was good.

I’ve stayed here before. It’s a nice, clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. They even had a “happy hour” this time where you could go to the desk and get 2 beers or glasses of wine.

Needed a tub for wife but BW would not change the room since it had been booked through *******. Charged city taxes which apparently ******* does not pay. Also, required $100 to be charged to credit card and will take up to 7 days to get the $100 back. Shower too small, no safety handle in shower or a place to put your shampoo and other shower items. Commodes small, low and difficult for senior citizens. Could not see the breakfast buffet due to the sun coming into the windows - need curtains over the small high windows. Was not a good experience and is certainly not senior citizens friendly.
