The Castle Lodge

Clean and comfortable self catering accommodation.

Tony was so helpful with info about the property and checking in etc. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the apartment and it contained everything we needed. I was racing a triathlon which was in The Brecons, so the apartment was perfect for what we needed. If I compete again next year I will be giving Tony a ring! Plenty of road side parking was available!

The title "Lodge" is rather confusing as these are actually flats of various sizes in a courtyard behind and over a pub. On the positive side, the flat we stayed in was clean and modern with a huge bathroom equiped with a splendid spa bath. On the negative side, our flat was rather short of plates, cups and glasses but, more importantly, it was directly over the pub and so was VERY noisy in the evenings with a disco (which literally made the floor vibrate!) or a live band between about 8:30 pm and 11:30 pm on each of the three nights we were there.

My self and siblings came to Tredegar to visit our late fathers birthplace. The apartment was ok nice and clean bigger than we thought. Here’s a few pointers. Parking The owner will or should meet you to open the gates and give you the fob for the secure parking Apartment It is located up some metal stairs there is disabled access apartments down stairs. It has definitely been modernised with a nice airy kitchenette with fridge cooker ,hob kettle etc and sofa area. 4 bedrooms 2 of which don’t have windows but it was fine. The bathroom was lovely and big with a nice shower. The view from the apartment is quite nice you can see the countryside. Please note it is above a pub so can be noisy. It has sky tv but only basic channels so not really sky is it. This whole area has a disturbing crime rate so be mindful. But if for some reason you need to come to this delightful place then the castle lodge is ok to stay in. Tony the owner appears to be a nice fella who will answer your questions and try to help you. If it’s just a short stay place you need then this will meet your needs.
