Spent only one night there but that was enough. Parking lot was like a trash can. Hundreds of cigarette butts, wrappers/paper, empty soda/beer bottles/cans everywhere around building. Room smelled of smoke although motel is advertised as "nonsmoking". Mattress was well past needing to be replaced. Ceiling in room was peeling. Noise from other guests was unbelievable. Loud engines/cars, car alarms in middle of night, car radios blaring, guests talking on speaker setting of their phones just outside my room (in middle of night). If you are staying in motel, when the heck aren't you talking on your phone in YOUR room or even in your car, not in front of another guest's room? Impossible to sleep. Snack machine broken, soda machine had a "use at your own risk" note on it. Person, apparently living out of his truck, was on driveway leading up to motel during time I was there. Truck was full of personal items piled in cab and in back of truck. Passed the truck repeatedly while I was registered and man appeared to be either walking around the truck or walking into the woods behind the truck or sleeping in the cab of the truck. Find it difficult to believe the management has allowed this motel, right off I-40, to deteriorate to such a terrible condition. This used to be a budget motel but was clean and felt safe; that is no longer the case.
