While other establishments in Triberg have closed, Gasthaus Staude is going strong thanks to its enthusiastic owners. The dining area is pristine new wood, and the restaurant bathrooms were under construction (alternatives were provided), highlighting their investment in the place. Our room was rustic - exposed wood beams and minimal decor, with a nice little balcony. Proprietors Rolf and Heidi were warm and welcoming, particularly to our young daughter, and provided a nice breakfast buffet. Dinner at the restaurant was also excellent (and convenient); there's a reason the dining room was full at night. Our daughter loved having a little playground right outside, and we appreciated the little "Stuebli" room down the hall as a place to sit with the lights on while she slept. Only downside was that the beds were a bit hard (and the extra child bed was uneven.)
