Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff are friendly, the bar and restaurant area is nice, and the a la carte menu is really good. I do have to thank the receptionists also who moved around our dates, due to my work schedule, professionally and without any issue. Some of the staff are stand out excellent and would serve any hotel in the country well. Unfortunately, there are a couple of minuses. When you emerge from the lift, you are greeted by a scruffy looking sofa badly in need of reupholstering. It should be hidden from sight in the meantime. A fresh set of eyes to look over similar tired furnishings may do the trick. The main issue is in relation to the breakfasts. Firstly, the menu does not match what is on the website, which I viewed as part of my decision to book this hotel. Our kids were very disappointed to be told that the pancakes 'are not available to residents'(!) which wasn't a great choice of words, to be honest, and the full Irish did not come with beans as advertised. Also, my wife's porridge, which she ordered due to a restricted diet that she is on for medical reasons, was artificially sweetened to the point of being inedible. So, the breakfast overall was a big black mark, as not one of us got a satisfactory meal. It may seem like a minor thing, but due to our morning schedules, our family really only get to sit down with each other for breakfast when we are away in a hotel, so we always look forward to it. It's easy enough to put right and will make a big difference to the overall experience. Negatives aside, best wishes to the staff as they really are lovely people. If we read that the breakfasts improve, we will have no issue paying the hotel another visit!
