Beautiful Hotel centrally located in shopping / restaurant district. Nicely decorated, nice room with all the trimmings. Extensive breakfast and excellent service. Very worthwhile!

Stille hotell med håndverksmessig flott arbeide i rom og fellesarealer.
Rent og ordentlig som man må ha lov til å forvente.
I dusjen må man blande vannet til riktig temperatur selv! Forbausende gammeldags på et ellers topp moderne hotell.

Perfekt utgangspunkt for en miniferie i Trondheim. Hotellet oser av kvalitet i alle detaljer og upåklagelig service. Det merkes tydelig at alle ansatte er drillet i å yte topp service. Så vi hadde et uforglemmelig opphold, og har allerede bestilt en ny tur til sommeren.

This one is a bit strange - an over-the-top opulent English style hotel in a provincial city in Norway. Top-hatted doormen, drivers with white gloves, but some disappointing lapses in service. First impressions were excellent - a uniformed driver met us at the station and transported ourselves and our luggage via Mercedes-Benz. We were ushered over the red carpet to reception, then to our room. The room itself was large and very well equipped. Unfortunately it was under a mansard roof, which meant that there was a steeply sloping ceiling - which caused more than one bumped head during the night. We'd been told that the breakfast was the best in Norway. Well the breakfast room (the Palm Court) was indeed spectacular, but the breakfast itself was a bit ordinary. The buffet was in a separate room some distance away and the selection was adequate but not spectacular. There was also an a la carte selection, but we were totally ignored by the few waiters who seemed to be rushing around but not giving any service. Personally, I would have preferred a bit less of the top hats and white gloves, and a bit better breakfast service instead.
